Post your answers in the comments! I would like to see the Hudson Line in a full length route for this game. The scenery would look very nice.

Kansas City to St. Louis or Kansas City to Chicago. It’s faster run with speeds of 90 mph (145 kmh) on the KC-CHI. St. Louis to Chicago would be nice. Lots of fast running and Amtrak equipment. Trains reach 110 mph (177 kmh) on that route but Amtrak is working on 125 mph (201 kmh) for the trackage.

Since we are throwing reality out the window, I’d definitely love to see the whole Seligman subdivision. 300 miles of high desert action, 100 trains a day, big industry, small industry, mountains, 70 mph straightaways, and good old Route 66.

    My choices:
    -Seligman Sub: BNSF or ATSF
-Something UP (Sherman Hill, Kansas City-St. Louis, etc.)
-Something like the BR East Coast Main Line or GWR line

I would love the full Pacific Surfliner all the way from San Diego to Goleta (Santa Barbara) along with the new SC-44 Chargers in Surfliner livery and Metrolink's F125's with the Rotem coaches

All of Slovenske Železnice (SŽ - Slovene Railways).
    Quite a few kilometers.

Or Ljubljana - Belgrade in the late 1960s / early 1970s, about 550 km.

The Isle of Wight's Island Line + Isle of Wight Steam Railway.

It'd be great to see this classic route from TS201X brought forward to TSW - A mix of mainline and heritage routes, beautiful countryside and plenty of antique trains. If DTG wanted to go the extra mile, they could go beyond just featuring the Island Line's 483s and 0-4-0ST Invincible, and could even consider featuring some of these Island residents as bonuses:

British Rail Classes 485 and 486: These two classes of EMU were converted tube stock like the current 483s, and lasted all the way from 1967 to 1992. Maybe these could be used for scenarios set in the 1980's, when they coexisted with the first few 483 units.

British Rail Class 03 D2059 'Edward': Edward is the Isle of Wight Steam Railway's own rescue loco, although the high standard of maintenance at the IOWSR means that he's more commonly seen in regular service and during the railway's diesel galas.

A1X Terriers W8 and W11 Freshwater and Newport: What better locos to feature on a route with plenty of opportunity for steam services than two examples of one of the most faithful Southern steam locos of the era, the IOWSR's two Terriers! Both W8 and W11 are in regular service on the IOWSR, although W11 currently lacks its nameplates following a successful boiler replacement.

How about back-dating things a little and modelling the island's whole railway network as it was or taking a flight of fancy and imagining it having survived to the present day? IIRC there was around 50 to 60 miles of it so it would be quite possible in TS now.

That would be absolutely incredible! It'd be great travelling around the Island to some of the more remote towns, and there's some routes on the Island today that are now cycle paths that must have been really pretty lines in their prime - the route down through Alverstone on the banks of the Eastern Yar comes to mind. Getting to ride steam trains along Ryde Pier could also be a pretty exciting experience.

Any other islands or even countries that are small enough or have small enough railway networks, to model the whole system? The Isle of Man comes to mind though a large variety of rolling-stock would be needed and the horse trams might present difficulties. Alderney would definitely fit but would lack variety.

I would've loved to see the Arctic Circle Train, which is marketed as Swedens most scenic train route. It's not the busiest route obviously, but it would give DTG the opportunity to really go all out on the scenery and beautiful nature up in the north. In the evening, you could drive beneath the northern lights, that would make for some truly magical photo opportunities. :)

Wow! Thank you for sharing this. Even if this doesn't make it into the game, it's still great knowing lines like this are out there. The pictures depicting this route are stellar; did you take these?

I wish! No, I'm just a fan of his work, and the route. Yeah, I'm not really holding my breath for the Arctic Circle Train to find its way into TSW anytime soon, but one could always dream...

There are too many routes I'd like to see, I'll pick some, limiting them to one per country.

    USA - full-length Pacific Sunliner
UK - North Wales Coast Line
    DE - Freiburg- Schluchsee
    CH - Luzern - Geneve
    CZ - Routes 130 and 140 - Ústí nad Labem - Chomutov - Cheb
    NO - Oslo - Bergen

If you have TS 2019 and want to drive that route, you can! The Railways of Devon and Cornwall is a project which extends DTG's Riviera Line all the way to Penzance. Dartmouth is included.

Ha ha, imagine the challenge of driving that in one go without making any minor operation errors, not a bloody chance! :)

I actually keep meaning to travel that in full distance in real life, as long as I'm guaranteed to catch the HST and not the Voyager, I've often caught it when holidaying in York to Leeds as the 08:44 but would love to do the full distance

Something in the far North of England - the Tyne Valley Line, Durham Coast Line, the early or modern Tyne and Wear Metro network, maybe even the old Blyth and Tyne line!

    GER, Hamburg-Hannover.
Starting at the Siemenshalle ind Hamburg, passing the big Hamburg harbor, Maschen marshalling yard (shunting on that would be lots of fun), the Hundertwasser Bahnhof in Uelzen, which also houses the metronom maintenance yard, Eschede memorial site, and at last Hannover.

The trains on this route range from Taurus/BR 182, BR 185 freight trains (or pretty much any freight loco still in use), to the metronom BR 146.2 and cab car, to the ICE 1/2/3/4 to BR 101 IC trains, to the BR 294.

PZB90 and signals, with a LZB line for the main tracks from shortly after Harburg until shortly before Hannover. Speed limit up to 200 km/h, which can be fully utilized by the ICE and IC trains.

A part of the Texas and Pacific route of the Texas Eagle or the Sunshine Special (not sure which part) set in the late 40s with steam and diesel operation. The locomotives would be the T&P 900 class 4-8-2, the 600 class 2-10-4, their 2-8-2s and various diesels, like the E7.

Yes, that would be nice. But it's very hard. Specifically to finish the thing it would literally take days to finish it if the route wasn't shortened.
