Hi I'm new here . I been dabbling in tsw on and off for a while now . But I've a steam man and sos is what I've been waiting for . Well done to the team on the hard work put into this , it's a good start and look forward to it evolving . For the most part it runs great but in some areas I get major stutter and load in lag . For example coming out of lime street I always get a huge lag spike just after leaving the station in the tunnel . Is this just my system or are others experiencing this . I have a really good system 6900xt and 32 gig of ram ..have tried all settings from low to high . 1080 to 4k which the card can do easy . But still get the same spikes and lag no matter the setting . Any help to fix this would be much appreciated Cheers
These stutters are basically part of TSW2 and you will notice them on every route to some degree. Some are worse then others. Fiddling around with the settings, DX11/DX12 and the .ini file can help but may not help. It is definitely not your system thats the problem.
Thanks . I've only really played trans penine before and a bit of London underground. Get the odd microstutter now and then but nothing like the big lag spikes I'm getting with sos . For the most part it runs and looks great but the spikes are really annoying. I figured it's the heavy areas loading in . I've tried some of the inc settings but no difference. Also tried v sync on and off and framing limiter from 30 , 60 to unlimited. Not tryed dx12 yet so might give that a go. And yes I am running on a ssd
Most likely poorly optimized assets loading in. Many routes have them. Try this: DX12 Vsync off ingame if you have a Freesync Monitor Fix the FPS in your driver to 60 FPS with AMD Chill If you play 4k 100% screen resolution if you play WQHD then 150% All setting highest but shadows low (looks almost better then ultra) You will still have stutters but it might appear smoother overall.
Tried DX 12 and your suggested setting with AMD chill ect . Running super smooth now and looks great. odd little stutter to be expected but huge improvement the big spikes have gone . Very enjoyable now. Thank you tsw2
