For the life of me, I cannot get my train going fast during the signal part of the introduction. I don’t think I’m maintaining enough boiler pressure for the power to go uphill, but I’m doing everything it’s told me to do thus far.

I’ve been trying all morning to figure this out. I did the first two chapters of the introduction no problem. But once I got to the signal chapter, it decides to change up the controls (which I’ve been tolerating and don’t really correlate to my issue) and I suddenly can’t proceed without losing power at this uphill part.

I looked for someone that may have streamed/posted a video of them doing the introduction and had no success. Figured I’d post here to see if someone could help.

Thanks for the time reading this! Hope I described the issue well enough.

First, I'd say check to see what you have going on in settings. Make sure you have automatic fireman enabled.

The upper part of the lower left HUD is your boiler pressure. You want to keep this high and you do that by lowering your reverser to 25 after getting going and using the regulator appropriately. If you are using way too much regulator for too long it will eat up all the steam. You can see if what you are doing is raising or lower the boiler pressure by the up and down arrow on the Boiler pressure HUD.
