Sorry if the title is a bit cryptic, but I wanted some advice, as most of you know the "starter bundles" are available for 9.99€ on xbox right now, I already got the UK one. About the US one, I already own Peninusula Corridor (I had it in TSW2020 as well), but I always wanted both loco DLC, so the Baby Bullet and the MP15 switcher, do you think it's worth to wait for at least one of the locos to go on sale, or should I get the bundle, being available for less than a full price loco DLC it's very enticing, but at the same time I am buying a route I own already... Spoiler: Moral Reasoning/Justification although I am not in the best mood to give DTG money I am not wasting any more sales solely for "ethical" reasons, I am still kicking myself for not getting HMA on discount last summer. At the end of the day the risk/benefit in getting such a heavily discounted item even if I decided to uninstall the game tomorrow I think works out for me. I give them little, I get a lot, my purchase to them is insignificant, while I am saving a decent amount of money. Look at what someone needs to do to convince itself of taking advance of a discount. Psychology is truly stunning.
Sorry, but as I’m not on XBox, I’d like to clarify and make sure we’re on the same page: Essentially, you’d get the MP36 (+cab car) and the MP15 for 9.99€, correct? If so, I’d say that’s a great deal at 5€ per loco. Both locos add something unique and interesting to the experience. The MP36 (+cab car) has an awesome cab and provides a different driving experience (slighty more powerful and self-lapping brakes). It also adds some much appreciated variety to the passenger trains with its striking bi-level coaches. That being said, it doesn’t add any services and last time I played (many months ago), the sounds of the MP36 were extremely quiet - a byproduct of the Unreal upgrade. The MP15 is a hidden gem in a way. No complaints about the loco itself, it even survived the Unreal upgrade unharmed as far as I can tell. The cool thing about it is that it adds a whole bunch of stuff to the timetable: Yards and sidings are filled with more static stock. Preparing and disassembling the special Martin Luther King train (which is also driveable) Rescuing a failed train Replacing a faulty cab car Multiple ballast train runs up and down the mainline (with interchanges along the route) Only caveat is that the MLK train (being double length) causes some signalling issues in San Francisco which makes some north-bound runs not completable, if I recall correctly. That’s why I think SFJ with both DLCs is much better than SFJ alone. The MP36 adds the variety, the MP15 makes the route feel alive. Best of all, as that’s pretty much everything that runs on the route in real life, SFJ really feels like a complete route with all of the DLCs. Personally speaking, I think that’s worth 5€ per DLC. You’re unlikely to get them any cheaper in a sale anyways, I’d wager.
Yes, that is correct, Peninsula Corridor + MP15 + Baby Bullet for 10€, my only gripe being that I already own Peninsula corridor Thanks for your detailed breakdown, at the end if it boils down to this: I think will probably buy it, I felt it would have been like that particularly because I am not the biggest F40PH fan and the Baby Bullet seems a more compelling experience to me. It is amazing value, particularly if you don't own anything beforehand, just got TVL + Class 31 + Class 20 for 10€ as well!
Go for the bundle then. Then install the DLC locomotives from Manage Add-on Menu. I did this for ECW Class 313 RSN DB BR155. Also, RSN is on sale for $9.99 without Tax with tax $10.65 if you don't have it owned. For you 9.99 EUR without VAT ($10.50) with VAT it's EUR 12.18 ($12.81 due to EUR 1 = $1.05). Added the Italy Standard Rate of 22%VAT
It's actually exactly 9,99€ even with our 22% VAT. Nice that you remembered I was in Italy hopefully my grammar didn't give it away. But thanks for the advice
That’s as crazy as the PlayStation sale that gave away ECW for 3.50€ It’s a fantastic opportunity to add to your collection. I’m truly glad you guys and gals on XBox get such an amazing deal considering how strapped for sales you usually are.
I got used to the US Prices where the DLC on sale is $9.99 then Tax is added on the End therefore it's $10.65 with a Sales Tax of 66 cents. Here's an article by the US Military Stars and Stripes Europe VAT it includes here the 22% VAT in Italy. From the Sale, I enjoyed RSN and DB BR155. My first DB BR155 run was on Riesa-Dresden the 14:47 Roderau-Dresden Container Train loaded. Spoiler: DB BR155 first run Details When I had to start from PZB Zwangsbremsung I just simply did Tap 30 Traction Force 130%. For the Weissig-Bohla fast line to Coswig Junction G red circle triggers at 125-130 kmh (78-80 mph)which triggers brakes. From that indicator, I used Electric Brake and Train brake to drop my Speed to 105 kmh (65 mph) then increased back to 110-120 kmh on Tap 30. Traction Force selector 130% electric brake 100%.
