Welcome back to the Train Simulator Screenshot Contest!

    This week's theme is: 1950s/60s

You can vote for next week's theme in the poll attached to this thread. What is your choice?

Follow us on Instagram (instagram.com/trainsim) to see your screenshots featured on our feed!

    How does it work?

You can submit your screenshot to the thread, and every Friday we will choose which screenshots will go to the loading screens. Shortly after, we will open a new thread and announce the winners. Each week has its own theme which is voted for by the community.

    Competition Rules:
    • Limit is 2 screenshots per person; 1 screenshot per post.
    • Include in your post the route the screenshot was taken on as well as the name of the train (if applicable).
    • Screenshots must be in a 16:9 resolution, at least 1920x1080 pixels.
    • Screenshots must fit the theme of the week, as stated at the beginning of this post.
    • In order to qualify for the competition, screenshots must be taken from products published by Dovetail Games that are currently on sale.
    Other Rules:

    • Official content only. Please make sure anything that is not available on the Steam Store or Dovetail Store is not shown in the screenshot. - This means no reshade, repaint mods, track upgrades or workshop routes.
    • Your entry may be disqualified if it is deemed to not follow these rules. Please limit chat to only when absolutely necessary.
    • Competition closes at mid-day Friday (UK time). The winner will be chosen every Friday.
    • Winner's Prize: The winning screenshot will appear in the game as a loading screen for 1 week!
(Please Note since the new update which changes loading times we have decided to change it to 1 week)

    T&C:
    • Please refer the terms and conditions for this competition here:
    https://dovetailgames.com/competition-terms-and-conditions/

Despite Southern Pacific retiring the "Black Widow" scheme for the more simpler "Bloody Nose" scheme in 1958, a few handful of F7's still retained the scheme into the late 60's and early 70's. Here F7A #6430, still wears its Black Widow paint in helper service with a newer SD45 (which the SP 1st took delivery of in 1966) as another freight passes with a pair of U30C's (Which were introduced to the SP roster in 1968) and a lone SD45, sometime in 1969. Sadly, by 1973, all of SP's F-Units were off the roster, some still wearing Black Widow Paint. (Heavily based on a IRL photo from around the same time)

    Route: Tehachapi Pass
    Locomotives: EMD F7A, EMD SD45, GE U30C

D1073 Western Bulwark, seen from the signal box at Exeter St. David, continues her journey east on an express past a couple of Castle Class steam loco's that might have hauled the same service only a few weeks before.

Western/Class 52 from the Western Hydraulics pack. Castle Class loco's included with the route which is Riviera Line in the '50s.

Great screenshot that both pleases and irritates me every time it comes up. Platform 3 and 4 were exclusively used for exSouthern services up and down (Waterloo, Barnstaple, Exmouth). Platform 1 was the GW down platform with one exception the weekly Portsmouth - Plymouth service which ran into platform 4 and left from 4. The return ran into 3 and left from 3 using Southern Region green coaches. This all changed in 1984 with the re- signalling. Western Bulwark was never in Desert Sand which was exclusively worn by 1000 Western Enterprise. I lived in Exmouth in the early 70s and spent a lot of time at St David’s hunting westerns. Sorry for the pedantry.

No, I believe every one is seeing it first, my winning shot from last week was instantly demoted to second behind yours and is now third this week, with your shot now second.
Please don't take this personally as I really like your shot, but I do feel totally de-motivated and am questioning whether to continue contributing as if a prize is offered it should be recieved, especially as with the new fastload my winning shot has hardly been seen.

Yes I still see your screenshot appearing for me, although it doesn't appear to be first one to show up as Craigie said (I can see it only because I've turned off FastLoad which was causing QD custom consist issues).

Yes that was a few weeks ago- now it's the last one to show and Craigie-C's is already gone.
