The Virtual New Haven Railroad’s Springfield Line route captures all the appeal that made the New York, New Haven & Hartford an iconic favorite of railroad enthusiasts and, in taking you back to the 1950s, will provide countless captivating and challenging railroading experiences! The New Haven–Springfield Line is a railroad line owned by Amtrak from New Haven, Connecticut, north to Springfield, Massachusetts. As a branch of the Northeast Corridor just north of New Haven State Street station, it is served by approximately seven daily Northeast Regional round trips, some continuing from New Haven to Washington, D.C., along the Corridor and others terminating at New Haven as shuttles. On weekends, there is one train daily to Roanoke, Virginia. It is also served by the daily Vermonter, which starts in Washington, D.C. and continues north from Springfield, finally terminating in St. Albans, Vermont.[2] The line is part of the Inland Route connecting Boston and New York via Hartford, Springfield, and Worcester, in contrast to the "Shore Line" along the Connecticut Shore and through Rhode Island.
This route in TSW2 would give us some great classic locos including GP7/9s, SW- and NW-series switchers, FMs, and Alcos. I'd love to see a New Haven FM CPA-24-5 C-Liner.
Tbh I'd prefer a modern-day version of this route. People have been begging for the P42 to be added to TSW. This is literally the perfect route to introduce it. Would also be a great way to reintroduce the Ex-Metroliner cab car. CT Rail also uses the P40DC and GP40-3H. There are about 16 Amtrak trains and 18 CT Rail trains. There are also instances where trains can reach 110mph as a couple of areas on the route have been upgraded to allow trains to reach these speeds.
Bring it on and there are long distance Amtrak services like the vermonter to St Albans, VT in the future Montreal Quebec
Think they’ll add the Springfield to new Haven line onto TSW 2 since it’s already available on train simulator classic as the next American route for TSW 2?
No because the TSC version was done by a 3rd party developer. Just because it exists on TSC, doest mean it will be made for TSW2.
Now hold on TSC already did a Clinchfield Railroad and they made it for TSW2 I mean it doesn't have all locomotives like in TSC doesn't mean we don't want the New Haven railroad route and I would like to see a New Haven route set in the late 1950s.
