Hi guys, Today im proposing a new route. and the route is Belfast Central/Lanyon place to Portadown also including the Great Victoria Street branch which is only one stop more on the Line. Let’s get into detail! The line is in Northern Ireland and operated by Northern Ireland Railways(NIR for short) this line is operated by Three trains and has 15 stations. This line is 30-35 miles long and takes about 46 mins on the commuter but 31 mins on the express train with the max speed being 90 mph. Since Northern Ireland is in the Uk this route uses TPWIS, AWS and CAWS for Safety systems Stationsfrom portadown) 1. Portadown 2. Lurgan 3. Moira 4. Lisburn 5. Hilden 6. Lambeg 7. Derriaghy 8. Dunmurry 9. Finagh 10. Balmoral 11. Adeleide 12.Great Victoria Street(branch line terminus 13. City hospital 14. Botanic 15 Belfast Central/ Lanyon place (too many stations for me to put images) Rolling stock: Clas 201 and mark 4 enterprise coaches 7 cars long plus the two power cars Capable of 161kmh but restricted to 145kmh used on Belfast central to Dublin Connolly routes Class 4000 NIR formed of 3 coaches and can be coupled up to be 6 cars long Max speed being 145kmh (90mph) Only used in Northern Ireland CAF Class 3000 NIR formed of 3 and used in same formations as the 4000 Max speed being 145kmh too(both fully diesel trains) This train is used in Northern Ireland but occasionally takes over enterprise services all the way into Ireland Lastly(Rarely ever used) The class 22000 Intercity DMU Used in 5 car formations only on this route capable of 161kmh but only in use of 145kmh only a few are fitted with AWS, CAWS, and TPWIS With all enterprises services and services to dublin using platform 3. and the NIR services using platform 1,2 Routes: (from portadown) NIR: Portadown to Bangor (all stops) Portadown to Great victoria street (all stops) Enterprise: Portadown(Dublin) to Belfast central (non stop) (From Great Victoria)NIR ONLY) Great Vic - Coleraine(Belfast Central) Great vic - Bangor(belfast central) Great vic - Derry/ Londonderry(all stops) Great vic - Carrickfergus(all stops) Great vic - Larne (all stops) Great Vic - Portrush (all stops) Great Vic - Newry (all stops) Great Vic - Portadown (all stops) From Belfast central NIR: Coleraine - Great vic (all stops Portrush - Great Vic (all stops Larne - Great vic (all stops) Carrickfergus - Great Vic (all stops) Bangor - Great vic (all stops) Derry - Londonderry (all stops) Bangor - Portadown (all stops Bangor - Newry (no great vic) ENTERPRISE: Dublin Connolly - Belfast central(Non stop) Belfast Central - Dublin Connolly(Non stop) Tell me what you think about this route and what details I could add and Im sure that Driver woods can help give information. The end
NIR does not use CAWS which is found on ROI Railways. NIR uses UK standard AWS TPWS Driver's Remainder Appliance. This route can be sold as a bundle with Germany Sassnitz Freight DR V60 with SA3 couplers US BART or SEPTA Philadelphia Tram System as Train Sim world 2 Broad Gauge Railway.
Remember UK Routes including NIR use AWS TPWS DSD Driver's Remainder Appliance except for SEHS High Speed 1 section which uses SNCF KVB TVM-430 future Crossrail Thameslink where it is ETCS Level 1 FS which has CBTC overlaid.
So, how do we make this happen? I'd love to just see the whole Translink (NIR) network recreated. It's relatively small in comparison to many others and I'd love to experience it from a driver's perspective.
Correct but NIR is part of the UK. Basically it means you have Northern Ireland UK and Republic of Ireland. The Realistic Chance is NIR UK Diesel routes
That would be my hope at some stage. I live in NI so am biased towards the Translink routes (apologies to those more interested in RoI routes). I wonder what the TSW community is like in NI and if anyone outside of the province cares enough to add their voices.
Translink have already said to another user that they're happy to be featured in the sim. Just up to DTG now!
I have been to all nine stations. These are Derriaghy , Dunmurry , Finaghy , Adelaide , Balmoral , Lambeg , and Hilden , I have been to Moira in June 2020 , and Portadown in July 2020
I have been to all ten stations all in different lines. But I think it was for the Bangor to Newry Line. Also We want be getting Enterprise because DTG hasn't announced Ireland for TSW3. But they have years ago in Train Simulator
Lets make this happen, England, Scotland & Wales are featured in TSW, lets get Northern Ireland in, (i live near Belfast)
Wales are featured at least and get a mention in the sprit of steam collectibles, there are holiday posters for wales need collecting in the route tasks. Would be nice to include NI in something .
It’d be great to see Ireland at all, even if not the Republic. If they were to do another Northern route, it would be cool to see the Larne line with the WTs hauling freight and the MEDs and MPDs working passengers; or the ‘90s with the 450s and MVs would also be neat to see. It would be cool to see the Larne line with its peculiar engines in any era up to the 2010s, but there probably wouldn’t be enough interest to make it viable.
