I still don't see routes from most other countries happening, unless there is a willing operator who will grant DTG a license and willing to work with them or a 3rd party dev.
For Britain, we, the Netherlands, should at this point be very doable I believe. Though I don't believe DTG actually travels in person to explore the route, but I'm not sure. Anyway, to answer, Netherlands should be fine
That was before they said that. Matt and Sam said: ''We can make routes in other countries like the LGV, but than it could take 5 years for another route in those regions'' So DTG mainly will focus on UK, USA, Germany since they know the most of it and have more expierence with it and can release more of it in better quality.
And they know it sells and gets semi decent reviews... The french route has been mixed because it's basically a long drag and a short drag. Very little else to do
Well if their position has changed from what I noted to this, that should be reflected in DtG not telling people asking about new countries on streams to go to the suggestions section and propose their routes so that devs can then take that into consideration.
Do they? I haven't seen them confirming they look at suggestions here, but if that is true, that's encouraging.
What area Kyiv pre 2022 invasion with freight locomotive being the M62 the former German Democratic Republic this is called DR Baureihe 120 some are TE109 the 1.520m gauge version for Ruhr Sieg Nord DB BR232. GDR Legends DR BR132.
Egypt Nile valley route with Class 66s on passenger. Great trains and scenery and a nice place for DTG staff to holiday!
I'm pretty sure if somebody had said this in 1916 in response to a suggestion for an Irish route, you would - rightly - have a few words to say about the stupidity of the comment.
I prefer Japan because they have good service and fast journeys and even they have fast bullet trains.
I think Poland would be great. My suggestion: Suggestion For First Polish Route: Linia Kolejowa Nr 1: Katowice-sosnowiec | Dovetail Games Forums
Give me Japanese routes and I won't be complaining about that. Also, stations for many Japanese countryside routes are mostly empty, if devs go for that kind of addition.
I defo heard Jasper from Rivet saying that he also looks into the forums. And you every now and then see Maik Goltz from TSG here. Also Skyhook has some threads in the forums. So all in all - 3rd party devs read the forums. And with that, also the suggestions.
I learnt a few years ago what games companies say and what they actually do seems to be two different things. DTG do seem to interact with the forums more than most although I should say 'used to'.
Agreed. Something from east Europe, or even ex-Soviet territory, would be rather different than our current selection of routes. I'd be up to see some unique architecture.
Freight locomotive might be VL80 VL85 VL82 M62 TE109 ( Germany DB BR220 & 232). Passenger/ Mixed traffic TEP70 EP20
I would like other European countries, like Austria, Switzerland (*), and France (*) (*) There are already some routes there. But in the case of Switzerland I would like something longer, and with bigger trains, like the Twindexx and some cargo too. About France we only have the TGV one. I would like "normal" trains, both passenger and cargo ones. Frankly speaking I would like from other parts of the world, but that will be much difficult due to DTG staff will have to travel, and learn about the corresponding system -including specific lights, and safety ones - plus extra costs. The main issue for me about routes, it must be "interesting to drive". I mean, at least more than one train, - passenger + cargo will be great - and have some challenges. The challenge can be the route itself, but also the timetables and scenarios. Going from point A to B directly or just stopping on some stations for most of the time (and timetables), is just boring. So they must be more interesting.
We know DTG won't do other countries but then imho they do not have to, all they have to do is flush out existing routes with other stock. I can only speak for the UK and the amount of stock they have to choose from both old and new is staggering but we do not seem to see it. But like you said one of the biggest failings of DTG is where they have routes but one or two trains as standard. The Railways are busy in the UK, when they are not striking, so it would be good to see that reflected in game on all the other routes not just a couple. It would probably mean updating existing routes to TSW3 but if they can do it with SEHS then they can do it with the others but it all depends if they can be arsed or not.
Japan. Because the scenery would look spectacular with a vast quantity of cherry blossom trees, and Japanese architecture. Breezing through the Japanese countryside into Tokyo at 200 mph.
Poland Czech Republic Genrally mountain area between this two countries. Lot of possibilities to use steam, elecltrified and non-electrified routes. Guess actual state and something between 80-90s would fit great.
For Czech Republic it can be introduced with Elbtalbahn Dresden Hbf to Aussig (Usti Nad Labem) via Schöna Bad Schandau & Decin 89 km 55.3 miles. Loading Screen art is DB Baureihe 180 CD371/372 with Königstein Castle
Either Japan or China seem to be coming with UW joining the partner programme, so we finally seem to be making progress on this.
It's really the only way you'll probably see something else, as DTG won't make the financial effort for research trips to new locals. Aside from UW, the company that made the Turkish route for TSC has their goals set for TSW sometime in the future. So you might expect Turkey in TSW at some point..

I'd rather see Wales or N. Ireland than Scotland again, mind you still haven't bought Cathcart yet. I see Australia with their long freight routes being a good shout, longest on the planet yeah? Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden would be good also, not forgetting Bulgaria of course.
You need to remember there are different track ages if you want Urban Narrow Gauge Perth and Brisbane are the best options. Check my Mandurah Line suggestion on what a Narrow Gauge Australian route looks like complete with a Motorway Central reservation running
Which is why I haven't bought it yet, Didn't know about the different track gauges, I just remember seeing those really long freight routes and thought they would be cool to see.
DTG hates Russia at the moment especially JD. They don't seem able to tell the difference between the people and a despot. I can and wish the people well I just hope DTG can drop their bigotry soon.
wouldn’t say I’ve seen anything that suggests so.. I think it would be the same for any country getting to the same degree of coverage and reaction The only things I’ve seen, seem to be more focusing on support of Ukraine’s current condition/situation rather than a mention on the Russian Federation. As for routes, Russia is probably controversial to bring into the game currently, especially with other options like Austria and Australia seeming higher up. But then they would probably be higher called for regardless.
How about something like Ukraine to Poland (Königreich Galizien Österreich-Ungarn) that was built during the Austrian era Galizien Carl Ludwig Bahn Premissel Lemberg. Present-day version you would have seen something like this broad gauge Ukrainian Railways M62 TE109 VL80 VL82 PKP Pesa Bromberg EMU Newag Griffin dual mode. When it comes to the terms of achievement Ukrainian railways M62 TE109 counts towards Deutsche Reichsbahn Baureihe 120 Taigatrommel & Baureihe 132 Ludmilla
Not sure if you replied to the wrong person, but if you didn’t, i don’t really know much of that route.
I actually replied to you. If you are wondering what the route I mentioned it's the one used by Ukrainian president Zelensky & King Charles III to reach Ukraine Premzyl Lviv line. originally built by the austrians as Hauptstrecke Premzyl Lemberg 98km article is on the German Wikipedia you need to translate this from German to English. Galician Carl Ludwig Railway English Wiki article that should explain the route to represent Ukraine and Poland for TSW 3.
seems like an interesting route with a strong piece of history behind it, would be particularly interesting on the time period it could have if it arrived to TSW, something set in the 1800s would be quite an iconic piece to experience in TSW.
I agree and if you are wondering who holds the license for that route that would be the Austrian ÖBB since the Galician Carl Ludwig Railway became part of KkStb Railway in the 1890s which then became the ÖBB 1923-present day. Remember the German Wikipedia seems to have railway lines built by the austrians & Prussians in Poland as articles.
Eastern Europe would be cool to see, but I think DTG should maybe wait for the tension to die down a bit, Western Europe would be cool to see in the meantime (Ireland, more France, Holland, Austria, Belgium, etc.)
