The 375 would do the majority of runs through London Bridge to Cannon Street and down to Orpington. The 377 is the Southern variant of the electrostar so would generally terminate at London Bridge and wouldn't run through Orpington You might also suggest the 700 Thameslink trains terminating at Orpington
As I don't know german (I presume) stuff I can't comment on that but the electrostars (I know it was 377s originally referred to but the 377s, 375s and 387s offer a near identical experience)are in my opinion overused. The electrostars are used on three routes ( again I know you were referring to 377 but they are all essentially the same) and due to the incredibly alike handling of the classes of electrostar and the routes they are used on, all having similar landscapes due to them all being in the southeast, there is no escape to something modern, away from the south and electrostars because sometimes change is good.
