This line would be roughly 55-60 miles long and feature 2 closely linked American operators. These are CSX (All freight) & the East Brookfield & Spencer Railway (shunting for the Northeast Automotive Gateway Terminal thing). If I’ve got anything incorrect that people know about, please do say as I’ve never been to America or seen much of their railways before. Proposed Rolling Stock GE AC6000CW in CSX Blue Livery Would operate all the automobile & intermodal trains over this route. Previously featured on Sand Patch Grade? (idk it looks the same). GP38 in RTEX livery These locos are leased by the East Brookfield & Spencer for their shunting operations at the NE Gateway thing. These shunting operations consist of the road vehicle trains brought into East Brookfield Yard by CSX, which are then separated and moved about the terminal by these locos. I believe the EB&SR had 3 of these locos on lease at one point, No’s 1272,73 & 74
You got confused with AC4400CW Sand Patch Grade (Achievement is shared with UP Yellow Colour Cane Creek) from AC6000CW. AC6000CW has more power than AC4400CW. Owners of this route can use AC6000CW on Sand Patch Grade. Making the GP38-2 (8000 hp GP38-2 Front AC6000CW Rear) SD40-2 (9000 hp SD40-2 AC6000CW Combi) Climb up the grade. Passenger Service ALC-42 P42DC P40DC Lake Shore Limited if added here or layered
Besides, Isn't the lead engine an ES44AH? I can tell since it's 970 which is part of the 900 series. The AC6000CWs or CW60ACs were in the 600 series. The trailing unit is a Tier 4 ET44AH as I can tell by the larger radiator.
It could be, I’m not really clued up on American trains as I’ve lived in the UK for the whole of my life so will be happily corrected on things like this
Yes, it is a ES44AH in the photo. Not to mention that all AC6000CWs (Which is different from the AC44 because of the large radiator at the back) from CSX were retired from 2018 and have already been sold off to Progress Rail afterwards.
Speaking of which, I would love to see a CSX C40-9W which I think is similar to the Dash 8 we have since it has the same fuel tank shape as well as other characteristics. CSX also reactivated them just like the Dash 8s
Well, same on the outside, but very different on the inside (since after looking that, I did not know until now, the CSX Dash 9s were actually derated C44-8Ws, a D8 body with D9 parts. Learned something new every day).
