Has anyone noticed that resuming a save with the 8f makes it undrivable? I resumed a save on sos and I went up a 0.9 grade and my boiler pressure dropped to almost nothing in seconds. I stopped to build up pressure but had to turn on the blower manually and it took 15 mins to build the pressure back up again?
Save doesn't work properly in TSW. Matt has said in relation to it that many of the functions states don't save or get reloaded when you resume from a save
Dunno, maybe tag in Matt and he might be able to clarify that. Or put it on the roadmap question stream if there is one this month
Many of us have been banging on about the messed-up save game function ever since TSW2 was launched to no avail. DTG seems to be deaf and largely unmoved by this issue. I will say, though, that it is somewhat serendipitous, in that it works sometimes for some players. But you certainly can't count on it. If, like me, you have limited playing time, it's a chance you often have to take.
Thanks for the replies. I think it's the first time I've used the save game thing. There's been a few times I've spadded and used load last checkpoint but never had any problems with it. I just tried saving another scenario and when I resumed it loaded a completely different save on a different route, so yeah I guess there's problems with it. Thanks.
The 8F seems very reluctant to steam. Make sure you have manual firing selected in the main game options. Open both front and rear dampers to 100% - think it’s M and Ctrl-M. Wind your cutoff back as far as you can. The physics is all wrong and both the Jubilee and 8F will power away on 20% cutoff or less, which balances the steam use, a bit. If you try and run with conventional cutoff, 75% to start, 55 to 65% on grades and around 40% to cruise the boiler will deplete very quickly.
Yea that's kinda the method I've been using. Even at 18% cutoff the boiler pressure was dropping like it had a hole in it. It only happens after loading a save. Starting a new journey things were back to normal. Thanks.
