I read a review on this old dlc loco and someone said it would randomly breakdown. So was this something programed into this loco or was it a technical issue or just someone who had no idea how a loco worked.
Prolly just that the person has no idea how the train works since i never had the train getting an mental breakdown
A lot of locos have situations in which they can cut out and stop working if you do something wrong, like fully opening up the throttle on the gronk right off the bat. My guess is that they missed a step when operating it, and the systems did whatever they were supposed to in that eventuality.
I remember reading something like this. It was quite a while ago. Apparently the driver was well into a run on SPG and heard a loud bang, got out and used the flashlight to fix something in the engine compartment (it was at night), and then was able to finish the service. This person thought it was a great, immersive experience. I don't recall if the engine type was even mentioned. This has never happened to me over many runs on SPG, but then again, I've never used the GP40 either. Interesting piece of TSW lore, but the thread I'm thinking about is probably still out there... If true, it could explain why the GP40 wasn't brought over to TSW2.
Or maybe that happened due to on PC GP40 being SPG add on and on consoles a NEC: NY add-on. And when they added SPG in TSW2, then this and due to some links in code entire NEC: NY add-on "family" was scrapped?
