If it was any steam route that would be major!

Could be Skipton, Settle was actually a fairly minor station and Skipton would be a more obvious end point, Leeds would probably be a bit too far and there would be a lot of work to put in between Skipton and Leeds. Of course the two engines with SOS would fit well on a S & C route. However I doubt there will be another steam route so soon especially as the S & C would be a lot of work.

115 miles! That would be by far the longest route yet.

Of course, that could be total trackage in a network

And the scenery is TOTALLY Austria or Upper Bavaria.

Could be Skipton. I don't know that part, I only remember Carlisle to Settle from the old MSTS.
Second steam route would be possible, NTP and TVL were two 80s route that also released back to back.

We 1000% need the Settle to Carlisle (or further) railway in tsw3. A modern day route would be great with steam tours and classic 60s traction

Also, many of the people on YouTube chat are identifying one sound as a Taurus- the workhorse loco of the OBB

Austrian Tyrol, without a doubt. Mountains are too high for Germany, and it's not Switzerland

The weather and sparks look great.
I wonder if the catenary and signalling can be damaged by weather etc?

I would guess the cameras are railfans(hence the static view we've had) cat adult might be a steam loco name if we take fart as steam, although I'm happy to have fart

True, although S & C would be a much bigger undertaking lengthwise than SOS unless they have been working on it for a long time.

If there is to be another UK route in the package, this would be the one for me, pretty much a direct take from TSC.

This is certainly the most exciting thread I have seen on here for some time.

It will be interesting to see what they come up with, I hope it doesn't turn out to be an anticlimax after all this excitement.

For me a more comprehensive scenario planner would be my top wish, although I doubt very much that is on the cards for this release.

Will it be just a new interation of before but with some polishing and new routes or something rather bigger.

    I think it's Hohenschwangau.

For sure that castle is right next to the famous Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria, just bordering the Austrian border.
Saw it a few weeks ago on my interrail trip!

    Hohenschwangau Castle
    https://goo.gl/maps/KAa55u2gsiT8GuGF7

Beautiful place but not sure which railway would be covered. The closest line ends in Füssen, a few km away from the castles.
The link between Germany and Austria is either towards Garmisch Partenkirschen or in west towards Kempten.
Not sure which large railways nearby could be represented…

The route might be Füssen-Munich. Half of it electrified as it is the direct connection from west-Germany to Switzerland, the other part is one track diesel only

A nice single track Alps route, preferably cross-border.. that would be a shut up and take my money situation.

Massive respect to the team who thought up this idea, It's been so much fun, can't wait to see how wildly off or accurate the guesses are to the riddles!

Now the question is why the Zugspitze if the tracks doesn't get anywhere near. I'm still a fan of the Ausserfern railway in this regard.

Also another massive thanks to the marketing team. This was quite a ride and I enjoyed every bit of it.

186 km is nice and long. So far we have 290 miles totted up. That’s a lot of route length to play with when we get our hands on it. File sizes are going to be mahoosive too, I imagine.

From the Forggensee itself (see cursor for location) (nearest station Füssen) there seems to be no rail connection into Austria. So either the route isn't going into Austria but rather going up north further into Germany, or it uses any of the nearby rail connections.

    upload_2022-8-9_15-30-52.png

Or, the picture refers more to a similar location, rather than pinpointing this exact location.

New proposal. It could be Munich-Pasing to Garmisch and then full Ausserfern line to Kempten. That's 187 km according to my calculations.

I think it could be Lindau-Buchlohe with the branch to Oberstdorf. It also fits well in terms of length.

ps and yes I know that it is a diesel route

Last time we had a tease like that it stood for Redcar, and as we all know the plate indicated Saltburn and the era of the route. This time around, I dunno, does anyone know cars and recognise the model? Maybe its name or where it's manufactured? Tempted to see if it looks familiar by firing up Forza Horizon 5 on my third monitor

A route near Hohenschwangau seems unlikely to me and remember the UK one had a stock image, it might just be a Bavaria stock image, and Bavaria reaches all the way to Aschaffenburg, so... a lot of possibilities.

The sun is up on Tuesday, and looks like the naive daydreams of escaping the Holy Trinity loop have evaporated with what seems to be the fifty trillionth German route coming in [IMG]

Oh well, it was nice to dream for a couple of days I guess.

"Bavaria" reaches all the way to Aschaffenburg (in what's really Franconia), but you won't find mountains like that except along the Austrian border

Or something older. Plenty of modern plastic stuff already available, especially for German routes.

But that's just wishful thinking. We'll find out soon enough I guess.

Definitely Jubilee and 8F territory. Unlikely to be another steam era route so soon unfortunately.

Yes I agree with you, about to have something "new" for the simulator!
This could be include newer locomotives model not yet available, plus some older models too!
The same for the freight / passenger cars!

There’s not going to be a route editor if that’s what you mean, DTG have ruled it completely out. Best we’ll get is version 2.0 of scenario planner and livery designer.

I believe it is "like" a Porsche.
Due to it is not a real production model, like other we have on the sim.
Despite them are "similar" to real ones.
I have noticed also this one seems to have a "logo" a the front.
