In train sim world electrostars and third-rail is being used a lot for english routes, but there is a lot more england has to offer than third-rail and the south. Up north, there is nice scenery and no third-rail, even places with no electrification at all. This is why I think we should have a route which is operated by Northern.

There are a lot of potential routes to choose from full of nice scenery and huge timetables but still dtg have never made anything from the 21st century in the north of england.
Northern's rolling stock includes the pacers which has been suggested plenty of times by the community (if the route is based a few years back).

    The class 158 sprinter.

The class 195 (hasn't been suggested that much tbf).

    The class 170

Instead of only third-rail being used for 21st century english routes, we need some Northern railways in tsw3. Some of the trains I mentioned have been suggested a lot and will give players more of england to explore instead of the overused south.
DTG we need some Northern routes put into train sim world, the pacers have been suggested by a lot of people. The north needs a lot more love!

DTG should have chosen Calder Valley Line Leeds City to Manchester Victoria/Preston via Bradford Halifax and Summit Tunnel as the UK route TSW 3 base since the 156 158 170 run there in addition to class 195.

The main issue with Northern routes could be the difficulty to get the licenses to use the branding (based on no branded Northern content in TSC) which could be why all northern routes we have in game so far are based in the BR era.

Even if they find a way around this, what routes would you like to see in particular? There are lots of options here. Personally I would most like the Furness Line (Barrow-in-Furness to Lancaster) the Harrogate Loop (York to Leeds via Harrogate) or Liverpool to Manchester (via Chat Moss). The Merseyrail Wirral Line would be quite interesting too (even not strictly 'Northern' and it uses 3rd rail :D).

Licensing can be overcome by setting back pre privatisation, which doesn’t necessarily rule out Sprinter or Pacer style traction. And it would be rather nice to thrash a 31 on 5 Mark Ones or Mark Twos from Lancaster to Barrow in Furness. Or take a Class 108 from Barrow to Carlisle via the Coast.

Huddersfield + Leeds to Sheffield via Barnsley is a joy to ride on, I'm not too far from here and some of the scenery there is lovely, especially this line.
    Rolling Stock would be
    2022 Version
    - Class 150/2
    - Class 158
    - Class 195
    2019 Version
    - Class 144 Pacer
    - Class 142 Pacer (one of these would be plenty, they're used interchangeably, the 144 more common)
    - Class 150/2
    - Class 158

    - Layers for both editions.
    - Class 66 for freight.

Service Pattern (Train Type Listed, Bold for 2019 Pattern)
    - 1TPH Sheff-Hudd (All Stopper) (Class 150/2, Pacer)
    - 2TPH Sheff-Leeds Stopper (would break off at Darton and rejoin a stop before Leeds as there's a separate branch going the slow way to Leeds) (Class 158 Class 150)
    - 2TPH Sheff-Leeds Express (Doesn't Branch off, Calls at Meadowhall, Barnsley, Wakefield Kirkgate and Leeds) (Class 195/158 (158 is very rare, maybe one or 2 per day), Class 158)
    - 4TPH Sheff-Meadowhall (Branches off to Doncaster here, very short service) (Class 150, Class 158, Pacer) (150 + 158 still used in 19 timetable too)
    - Mixed Freight throughout all branches (Huddersfield-Sheff Freight only after 20:00 and before 08:00)

Ive previously suggested the Wakefield Line from Leeds to Sheffield and Doncaster which pretty much run parallel to this.

    https://forums.dovetailgames.com/th...kefield-line-leeds-sheffield-doncaster.51143/

Your suggestion is good too, and anything from that part of the network would work really well. I'd also include the line via Castleford for both fast and stopper services just to add that little bit more fun!

I don't know how far the route is before Castleford being added, any idea how I could find out?

At Castleford the trains have to reverse, which could add something interesting for the timetable mode. Think the fast trains to Sheffield via Barnsley use the same tracks, just Castleford is a station on a separate branch

I like the idea of Calder Valley,

Add in 142s, 144s, 150s, and make it mind 1980s so we can also add Class 104s in too,

I'll make a new thread suggesting the calder valley line, since it's quite long I'll reduce it to leeds to manchester victoria and burnley manchester road and it's also my local line.
