Let's hope the final result equals the massive hype that Dovetail are pushing our way ! Let's NOT have a repeat of last year's Rush Hour

    Hey guys.

Could someone give me a rough idea of the South Eastern Highspeed Network to Ashford and Dartford in the game? Which way the trains take and which stations are on the way?
I have tried searching for it on the official train operator website and did find a map but I can‘t really figure out which part of the network is going to be represented in TSW3.

    Thank you.

    Finally, some information about sound.

"Increasing your sense of immersion are brand new, highly detailed, and carefully engineered sounds. ( my italics ) The joy of witnessing high-speed trains whooshing past you and enormous diesel locomotives powering up steep gradients is captured by realistic and layered in-game sounds......."

    Sounds impressive.
I doubt the streams will do the new sounds justice, though.
We'll have to wait to hear them on our own machines.

When devs try to hype a product up but then the product doesn't live up to the hype. A common thing that happens in this industry

Exactly, it isn't just DTG. People bash them a lot for overhyping stuff but so many companies in the gaming industry do the exact same thing.

I'm more interested in loco and track/joint sounds improved as opposed to hearing wooshing noises. But like wise I'll wait and see. I'm just not getting my hopes up...

The joys of not pre-ordering. You’ll get 4 days of feedback before you have to shell out.

Rush hour brought a good bunch of new things like a.i variety and static stock ti the routes. The bugs are annoying yes, but for me RH can be called a success.

True, I feel like we're pretty much being pushed into a corner if we want continued updates and access to new content. Complaining won't really solve much at this point imo.

But sometimes when a game comes along like 'No Man's Sky' which is one of the most hyped games ever, it got a right kicking but now look at it. It took aboard the criticism, acknowledged it, and vowed to improve it but unlike DTG it actually delivered with some huge updates, free as well and without the resources of DTG.

I beg to differ on that, a little high for me, there might be some. Would be interesting to know how many refund TSW3 after getting it.

Sam was running teams, a bunch of other programs, streaming in whatever resolution he was streaming on and it was a dev build which can cause low performance issues.

Impressive article and when I was watching the stream it's sam who was complaining about the Graphics. When ÖBB route arrive does the Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Kassel Würzburg tutorials specialized apply to them or not?

Re the sounds, was any reference made to tunnel etc reverb? Was anything evident?

As regards preordering, no still holding out (I spent most of my Steam credit on Sailaway anyway), a Day 1 plus purchase still really depends on them nailing down the save game or putting the old one back as a temporary measure. Otherwise it’s only 14 weeks from TSW3 release to Xmas sale time on Steam where fairly certain it will be at least 20% off by that point, if not more.

My plan is to get it in 2nd half of January, like all the previous that I got. There's usually a -60% ~ -70% off sale (on PC) for the core at that time, and there should be some new DLCs released by that time which may interest me. At this moment all the new included "core" routes are not much of interest for me.

And this is exactly why they keep on doing the same stuff that everyone always complains about. Forum chatter has very little effect - if you don't vote with your wallet, you're not voting at all.

The problem is, i barely experienced any problem, bugs, etc everyone else talking about. TSW2 runs pretty well on my rig, at least for my route/dlc preference.

Considering that I have driven a combined 10,000 km in Rush Hour routes for less than the cost of two movie tickets, drinks, and popcorn, I would say that it RH is a resounding success for me.

Yes at the end. Dresden,London Commuter, and Boston Sprinter are 3 of the best routes in my opinion Especially the brighton main line. 4600+ playable and AI services. What Joe did with the Brighton main line is incredible

Yup, aside from the issues on BML (Reigate/Redhill signalling & scenery, also passenger behaviour & QTY), between BML & NRD I have more miles driven than every other DLC combined.

Listening to the streams and reading the blurb from DTG, I'm expecting much improved sounds in TSW3, especially for the C4 on Cajon Pass.

The proof, as always, will be in the pudding.

I find it funny that in both previews so far, we’ve seen DTG themselves look at stuff and say “that’s bad”.

Both instances the particular people weren’t wholly responsible for said issues, which to me would suggest that A) TSW isn’t being managed competently, and B) nobody is actually looking over TSW as a whole, it seems to be all compartmentalised.

The only time that DTG seem to realise a lot of the issues are when their community team is previewing their content in full, and no disrespect, but that team isn’t exactly the A team when it comes to rail or development knowledge. Even though we see most streams feature a dev, these guys seem to be shoehorned into shushing up about anything by their co-host, like in the Kassel stream, there were a couple of occasions where Lukas just agreed with JD, then JD corrected himself, and Lukas agreed again, that’s not a good image

I suspect these delays have something to do with the above, the whole reveal of the past 2 weeks has been quite poor, quite a few issues have been brought up now so I think these might actually be getting looked at.

Last nights performance was just shocking, If TSW can’t handle a 1.7KM route on 1 tile with no AI, it’s going to be pretty shoddy with 186KM.

Also I’m getting pretty annoyed with the lack of prep for these streams, coupled with the constant technical issues during them & the actual game issues, it’s just a very very bad look for TSW 3 IMO.

DTG really need to get it together.

I wouldn’t worry too much about this. I notice the post was from Jamie. Maybe it’s just that Alex has called in sick and with JD on holiday, they may not have anyone available.

Yes, as I've mentioned before, they don't seem to always have the best equipment. And drafting these poor DTG and 3rd party developers, who do their best, but are not experienced in front of the camera, often backfires.

When you're selling a new product, you really need to put your best foot and face forward and be as professional as you can be.

We have been unhappy with the technical issue we have had in the last few streams, we will be bringing them in house to make sure the tech issues don't occur again.

DTG does well when what they are going to show is pre-recorded, but in the live show they suffer a lot. The day of the countdown and the presentation was fantastic, but the two previews have been quite disappointing, to put it kindly. And it's a shame, because there are a lot of people behind it who have made a lot of effort, but somehow it's tarnished. I don't think this is the best way to try to sell their product to us, they need to do better with the streamings.

But apart from all that, from what we've seen so far, I'm afraid we're going to get a rushed product again that lacks hours of work and optimisation. To me TSW3 is reminding me more and more of Rush Hour...

Most of last nights gameplay was pre-recorded.

It’s just a mess all over to be frank.

Why don’t they prerecord the gameplay and then just have the talking live. They know what people want to see:

-They want the locomotives and a basic overview of how they work
-A brief overview of the route
-A bit of day and a bit of night with good and bad weather
-Acceleration and braking sounds from inside and out
-A view of the full timetable and map
    -Any new features
    -Horn

Any questions can be answered live from the chat still.

I can appreciate what you are saying but running a Game live can show everything. Like how long a menu takes to load or glitches that randomly occur. If something is pre-recorded these kind of things tend to get edited out. This could give a somewhat false impression. I think some pre-recorded footage is a good idea but live Game Play for me gives the best impression of how well the game is running. If it was all pre-recorded some people would accuse DTG of hiding issues performance or something like that.

The two ICE's are far too bright for starters, nearly reached for my shades looking at that shot!
