1. https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m...tches/i1020-origin-dlc-markings-on-train-logo 2... EDIT [solved] thx to Bescot \o/ https://www.trainsimcommunity.com/m.../c19-patches/i2862-tsw3-origin-dlc-route-tags
They probably will make it compatible. Many are hoping it's just a file name change or something but until they have the actual game with all the routes, they won't know
I guess I'll ask for various menu colors mods, before I get the game. I'd especially like to have a "dark mode" / "dark UI" mod after looking at screenshots of the menus.
I was under the impression that a) you could now select a train and it would show you the routes you could play it on, and b) the trains were being separated from specific DLC, so wouldn't those things make that mod redundant?
Hard to tell from my perspective. Today only base content is available - no substitutions. Is this official, your statement?
It's been mentioned a few times in videos. There was a bit about the new UI which showed options to choose route or choose train: (14:25) ...and Matt has been talking a lot about "decoupling" the trains from the routes: (31:00) (They're the same video; I did link with timecodes, but the forum strips them out – helpful as ever!)
I didn't watch the streams. Just fragments. I hope it is like You say. Otherwise - mod. Thank You for the clarification \o/
There was still a problem with selecting the correct loco, which was updated with LZB, as shown in this preview ~01:25:37:
Oh, ok, I see what you mean. But surely if the second bit - the decoupling of trains from routes - happens, then only the latest variant of each loco will be present in the game, and it won't be necessary to determine which of them is required. Unless there's a specific reason they can't do that - if it's completely incompatible with the older route, for example. (As I type it, it seems like something that would probably happen with the way DTG tend to build things, and if that is indeed the case, then the whole decoupling thing seems futile!)
Here's how the problems to tell the locos apart looks like in TSW3: As I see, pictures in the right column look tiny. The DLC markings would need to cover at least half of the image to be readable, unless it can be modded some another way.
I feel the JNA wagons feel to quiet now. They feel like they just running past on plastic, no metal work or clanky sounds which would expect from heavy freight wagons. Maybe a sound mod improvement is required.
