I only briefly started my first run last night, on the SEHS route, first scenario, and encountered an issue:

Following the tutorial to power up and start the train is fine up until the point of applying power to get the train moving. If I use the keyboard controls, the HUD number increases but no power is applied. Restarting, if I use the mouse to manipulate the power handle instead, I get power and the train moves. I recreated the issue twice, to confirm that the keyboard increases the power number on the HUD but there is no power to the train; moving the handle with the mouse control again produces power.

Also, this might not be an issue but normal for the type of train: when applying brakes, should the number jump from 0 (neutral) to 3 for initial brake application? Because it does. Yet it's sequential from then on when applying more brake.

    I'm on PC, Steam version.

For the class 395 Javelin, yes that is normal brake behaviour.

Did you make sure to have the train set to either dc or ctrl (hold down) and then press pan up shoes down twice (maybe 3 if your train still does not move?)? I've done this tutorial and was able to do it. The line volt light should be on and the mcb light off.

As per my issue report, I followed the tutorial exactly. But at the point of applying power to the train, if I use keyboard controls the HUD number increases but no power; with mouse control moving the cab lever, I get power. I have recreated it twice with the same result.

The tutorial doesn't let you progress to that point unless you do the other bits you mentioned.
