And JD said dynamic weather wasnt in Journey Mode lol +Screenshots +Video Links
There is something different going on with the Cajon Pass, the texturing of the rain and fog is broken. Rain turns out compleet dark, same with the fog apparently.
I’ve just run this service and had the same issue on PS5. It also lifted instantly a little outside San Bernardino for me.
I noticed this fog issue when running L-VICTH05-05. It got thicker and thicker, then when I stopped at the destination and went into the map to set my route and came back out, presto sunny day.
I don't think this has something to do with dynamic weather. I think there is a ring or Sphere of fog around you to limit what you see downhill or uphill but it only moves in the horizontal axes and not the vertical ones. So you end up with something like this: Black = fog Note: I don't know how this works, but this is my theory on why this happens. This glitch/bug is not new, it has existed in TSW 2 as well. (See Sherman Hill descent on a beautiful night).
I decided to just bite the bullet and complete the G-HOULAC6-07 service in the total blackness just to be able to move on in the journey. As I was rolling through San Bernardino yard at the end I remembered what Sharon E said and opened the map and changed a switch back and forth and when I closed the map the murk was gone. So Sharon E might have discovered a work around for this, be interesting to see if it works for others. DW
