Using The Class 395 At Night- Are The Headlights Supposed To Be This Weak?

    Surely this can't be right. I know nothing about UK locos though. Using the Class 395 at night on its intended route with clear skies it's almost pitch black outside of stations.

    The other locos included fair a bit better so it's not overly dark, driving the Javelin though all of a sudden it's absurdly dark, and driving with any type of visual reference outside of signals isn't possible.

    Traditionally UK train headlights have been of the, “to be seen” rather than “see where you’re going” type, but that possibly changed with newer stock such as the 395’s. The implementation of all headlights that I’ve seen so far in TSW3 is still a bit weak.

    As anyone familiar with them will tell you, the headlights on TSW US locos are an embarrassment as well as a impediment to driving at night.
    I've been told that DTG simply doesn't have the tech to fix this problem, but I think that they have, on occasion, done an acceptable job, going as far back as SPG.
