The save function is moved from the game to the forum . It is indeed gone, there are only a zillion posts about it on the forum.
Search the forum as there are plenty of topics already. DTG unilaterally decided to remove the save function due to its occasional unreliability. They are working on a replacement but no estimate when or even if this will be incorporated in the game. A temporary workaround has been established, for PC users at least, using Unreal Unlocker (do a search for UUU) which allows runs to be saved and reloaded via the console command. Many of us feel quite strongly this was a poor decision by DTG and they should bring the old save back on a caveat emptor basis, until they provide something better, but they are being more than a bit stubborn on this point.
I still don’t understand why the save function is removed. I agree that it was not always functioning correctly, but most of the time it did the trick. If every bugged function of the game was removed, it would be quite a different game.
When ever I have saved a game it, I cant play the rest so I welcome the decision to get rid and sort a solution before it coming back
I hardly had any problem with the save function, so for me it is a real miss. Why do you welcome the decision to get rid of it ? If it doesn’t work for you, don’t use it. I on the other hand, would continue to use it while DTG is seeking out a solution.
Because I like to pretend I'm.a driver for the day so saving is fundamental for if I want to play over a few days while working so I want to have the save button fixed so then it doesn't play havoc on the game.
As has been gone into several times already, not everyone has hours to spend in front of the PC in one go, nor is it healthy to do so. Ergo a save feature is essential in a game like this where a run may go on over an hour or even longer.
