Hello, I'm new to Train Simulator, and have a question. I've purchased the Steam version of Train Simulator Classic, and a small selection of routes. In the Drive/Standard tab, the only option I have for loco is Railfan and the Bahnstrecke Leipzig-Dresden route. In Free Roam my route choices are limited to Engadine Line, Gotthardbahn, and London to Brighton, with 4 locos (375, 377, 450, and GE 6-6iiRhB). I do appear to have access to all my content in Quick Drive. Is that the norm? The program is located in my normal Steam folders on my C drive. Cheers from (cold and somewhat damp!) Canberra, Australia.
Hi welcome. You should find most of the scenarios in career mode. If you select a route it will show you all the scenarios for that route and if you select loco it will show you all the scenarios available for that loco. Dtg don't put many scenarios in standard mode but you will find third party developers will put more scenarios under standard mode. Quick drive allows you to drive a train on on any route and routes that train isn't tied to. Example you can drive a American loco on a British route and vice versa, although you can't normally drive a electric train on non electrified track. You can find scenario packs on websites like Alan Thompson etc https://alanthomsonsim.com/ Most scenario packs will come with instructions of where to put the files in your railwaorks directory. But you will need the routes/trains for that scenario pack for example a scenario pack won't work if you don't own the dlc the pack has scenarios for. Usually a scenario pack will list the dlc required to use it I.e london to Brighton, class 377 class 700 etc...
Welcome aboard. To pick up the one point I think Dangerous Dave didn't address: as you have discovered most routes these days only have Career scenarios. If a route lacks FreeRoam scenarios you may find some in the Workshop but they are quite easy to make- I've done it myself to pose screenshots. This should fill you in: ...but there are shorter videos that give you the basics.
Hi JJTimothy I don't know why, but I can't see your video. Maybe you can put just the link in a post.Thanks.
Does that mean you've been able to watch it? In any event: (link but it just embedded the video again) It's not my video BTW- just suggesting it but there are many others. Edit: OK that didn't work. Cut this: -TMKvRvBES0 ...then go to any YouTube video and paste it into the URL instead of the video code that's already there. If you're still struggling just search YouYube for Train Simulator scenario creation- you'll get oodles of suggestions. This one is made by Matt Peddlesden (MattPlaysTV).
