I would love to buy the game on Steam but hours spend on gamepass doesn't help me if I can't transfer my Dovetail account / saves.

Will you change that Dovetail ?

    They are completely different platforms.

They are different platforms by the way the only platform to actually synchronize Game Pass Microsoft PC TSW is the Xbox Version.

Both can be transferred as far as I know. Your Dovetail Live account is universal and will work with every DTG game that supports it. Your liveries can be redownloaded if you upload them to the Creator's Club. And as far as I am aware you can manually copy your save file between the versions to keep your progress.

It's worth bearing in mind that while cross-play (playing with others on different platforms) is challenging, cross-progression had additional layers of complexity (as well as approvals required from platform-holders, etc). One way of enabling cross-progression is to store all the player data in the central DTG account - but to be honest, there's not a lot of reason to go this very high level of effort, since there's not really a great deal of demand vs the demand for fixes, new routes, etc.

Also, even tracking "progression" between platforms still wouldn't be able to give you access to DLC purchased on other platforms (eg, playing on Steam with DLC bought on Xbox) - this is something the platform-holders flat-out won't allow, and is beyond the control of DTG.

For further reading, it's worth checking out how Frontier Developments have had to go about ending support for consoles and trying to move everybody over to PC. It's messy, even with a solid and long-term successful game.

Well, for now, I've moved from my pc to my Xbox Series X and the game runs better and.... I can "save" by quitting the Xbox and return in my game later.

Thank you for your replies, IMO it was easy to make a cross save between two PC games but obviously, it's not :)

Well, I think it's not the main point. I can play on my PC the Witcher 3, and on my Nintendo Switch, and they are cross save...
