So I've been thinking about this for a while now and whilst I think it might be a short discussion it'll be an interesting one.
How will DTG go about adding multiple versions of the same train to TSW?
Whilst this sounds like a similar case to many German trains like the Dostos and 146.2s, I think this is different enough to warrant a separate chat. This is specifically geared toward the class 465 because for some reason only one subclass of the train was made despite there being 3 other iterations of the class, 465/0 /1 /2, we could even include the class 466 in this discussion. Back when the 465 was first released I thought it was strange that a 466 didn't come with the pack seeing as there isn't much of a difference between the 465/9 and 466. It was also sad to know the Hitachi 465s weren't coming because that would've added more variety but maybe it's because Armstrong Powerhouse (Ap) hadn't released their Hitachi pack yet.

Now that we're in TSW 3 with a rereleased 465 and having the Ap Hitachi 465 release some time ago I thought they would've added in the other 465 subclasses since it's now possible, but they didn't. Now, I don't know what's gonna happen in the future because surely they can't release the 465/0 & 1 as separate DLC right? They only have three options I can think of: release them as separate paid DLC and explain why, release them with a separate route or release them as an update to everyone for free.

    Thanks for listening

Yes you would have thought they'd bring out the 466 along with the 465 since they often worked together in formations on the Catford Loop and SE mainline. Not forgetting though, that a 466 has only half the carriages and half the power of a 465/2 ;-)

Different variations of trains have differences that would require dtg to basically rebuild the locomotive whether it's the interior, exterior differences, physics, who knows. But each variant is different in their own way even if they look very similar from the outside

The difference between the /9 and the /0 or /1 is more than "stick a number on it" because the motive power was changed, meaning a new configuration of physics, thus different acceleration so maybe a different timetable needed
It's not always as simple as "I want more versions" without considering the ecosystem that other version may have lived in

I mean DTG basically made a 377-1 by sticking a number on it ;)

Well they had to cuz Joe used up all the 377/4. And you know the type of person Joe is by now.
Only reason why they did a /1 is cuz it had the same headlight configuration so they didn't have to make other changes. If it had been another variant, then they would have had to rebuild it

The headlights on a 377/1 is different slightly to a 377/4

I thought the main difference was internal seating layout... Can't find any reference to anything different other than that
