The sounds will stay the same. They didn't have access to the real sounds to record, so they had to artificially create it and they can't use YouTube as a source, even if it's just for inspiration, hearing purposes.

    TSW 182 for comparison @ 9:00

At first listen it sounds like a dab of distortion effect and adding some low end would help boosting the motor/melody sound. As with many locos in TSW they lack that real life oomph, and in general they sound synthesized. By the looks of it, most legacy locos are along for the ride in future releases of TSW3, 4, 5, 6... Improving old assets is really not a bad idea and investment.

    Great sounds = Immersion!

That may be the case but they still could have tweaked the sounds as they know that it's not really accurate and especially the 182 has its unique sound.

I think there are a lot of trains in TSW that have 'synthetic' sounds and are doing great. There were occasions where they recorded sounds and they came out quite bad.

Maybe they didn't have access then but now they have. It's not an excuse. If they had to use synthetic sounds they should replace it with real ones as soon as possible...

Electric motor sounds aren't the most complex sounds, and the 182 already kind of sounds like a B3 Hammond with distortion :) Which leads to sound synthesis using oscillators, effects, EQ, etc... Should be possible getting really close, but it takes time and skill. In other words, it depends on the company and audio person.

I Imagine DTG with all its official licensing would be able to get access to for example DB loco's. Then they could book train tickets from England to Germany to go record sounds. And everyone's happy :D

DTG mostly never cares about the sound.

They are not only wrong but also annoying at higher speed. my question is then how come the Taurus of
    Just Trains
With the right sounds and DTG not.
RWA Railjet Advanced from Just Trains

I'd rather pay $19 or more for a quality DLC than half the price for bad sounds!
Can't they make this DLC for Train Sim World 3 either, it's just a full remade BR 182 in the sounds.
