After the great success of Stadler about their really great Eurodual - diesel + electric powered locomotive -, Siemens replied with the Vectrons Dual ones. Already painted on DB colors! As you notice... with the IC paint scheme!
Oooh. Stadler are really making a rise now... I wonder if they will steal some of SIEMENS' market share... Could this be the Airbus and Boeing of the railways? Or maybe Boeing and Mcdonnell Douglas, with Airbus yet to come?
I don’t think so. With the acquisition of Bombardier Transportation by Alstom I think this company with the Chinese ( CRRC ) are the current Airbus and Boeing but let’s see what the future will say
Well... no in my opinion. Those are Alstom (Traxx) and Siemens (Vectron) instead. Stadler it has very good products, and created the first big freight locomotive with dual power (I believe) Their locomotives looks awesome. Even they have several really nice EMU products too. I am very exited as 7 brand new diesel locomotives of Stadler - Euro 4000 series -, were bought in my country.
If you look at Alstom Website the locomotive Line up is made up of Traxx and Prima. Need more power & Hybrid option above the Traxx go for Prima Locomotive. On the Website, they have Aem940 which runs Zurich Limmattal Rbf hump
I’ve seen the Eurodual ( CC6001 ) with the new nose and it’s quite massive I was impressed it’s always great to see a CoCo locomotive. The Euro 4001 Captrain runs quite often at my workplace it’s a great loco too
Yes, I know that. But I was referring more about sales volumes. Please notice I have no concrete data, but seeing lot of videos, those locomotive builders are being the leaders on freight locomotives. Stadler as mentioned, it seems to sell less than those ones.
Do we know what their workload will be? The IC scheme is certainly interesting, the 101’s are getting on abit now and I know that Germans don’t exactly love the IC2 fleet. Any chance these will be the new IC locos?
950kW in diesel mode and 2,2mW in electric mode it’s higher than the H4 Prima with 900kW output in diesel and 2mW in electric mode. I don’t think it’ll be on IC services the tender was made for DB Cargo
Then why are they painted on white and the red stripe? Typically IC paint scheme. Furthermore no "Cargo" lettering.
They will be, Cargo wouldn't use the Fernverkehr livery. It's not hard to find out (or guess) what they're for: https://press.siemens.com/global/en...rders-21-vectron-locomotives-siemens-mobility
I said I don’t think because I saw on a website that the tender was for DB cargo but I don’t check that website every two minutes as there was an update 2 weeks ago about it
And I provided the facts for everyone's benefit Joking aside, sorry if you took offence to my comment, I didn't mean to attack you.
Oh no don’t worry I wasn’t offended by it but it’s quite difficult behind a screen to see people reaction
