Rivet released an image of a new station render, and people were pointing out that it looks like Partick station on the Argyle Line and North Clyde Line. So, if this is Partick, it has to be one of these routes. It could be either, as both use the Class 318, 320 and 334. The Argyle Line uses the Class 385 as well, but that's besides the point. My bet is on the Argyle Line, as it has less stations and has more variety on its route. Rivet could use the same sounds on the 318 and 320, as they are based on the same model. The 334 and 385 do have a chance, as Rivet is absolutely better at newer motor sounds, the 484 and the 523, for example. What would your bet be on?
Rivet loves to post work in progress shots for dlc they have already released. Whether it's train models, train blueprints, parts of the train so you have to guess it, stations, etc. And they repost the same post several times.
If it is North Clyde then their TSC version was very well done. Just suffered from a complete lack of scenarios, something which if it is indeed their project, will be remedied and then some with a full day’s timetable in TSW.
Nice spot, if longer routes is the topic this year, im looking definetly forwart to it. Edinburgh to Helensburgh?
That's the exact same asset as is on Suburban Glasgow Northwest on TS. Not the first time they've done that, too. Probably nothing to it. Also, the 385 doesn't run on this section, it only serves Lanark - Glasgow Central (High Level)
I was suitably impressed by Rivets second go at the Island Line - they’ve definitely improved a great deal since the first Island Line release. This bodes well for this route, but to be a purchase, I absolutely expect… Accurate sounds set at the correct sound levels and not too low - especially outside and when in the cab with the windows open. Accurate, achievable timetable using the real timetable (where possible). All scenarios being achievable and all achievements unlocking without issue. Good looking, realistic textures, not the almost cartoony like textures they used in some areas of Arosa Line. I’ll be watching developments with interest.
Matt has already said on stream that longer routes isn't going to be the standard after TSW3's launch. It'll depend on if a longer running distance suits the gameplay of the route they're developing. Seeing as this is Rivet, I'd expect route length to be that of an average route, not a 100+ mile affair.
I really don't why everyone's fixation with route lengths. Personally I find a 30mimute service on Harlem or RSN far more interesting and fun then an hour run on SKW.
Would be very happy with a class 318 or 320 if Rivet make one and will buy. It should sound like this though: https://youtube.com/shorts/J7vzNm1zE9I?feature=share Been waiting many years for a class 3xx emu to sound like the real thing with that low bassy sound as it pulls away and the thrash at speed.
Rivet doesn't have a good track record when it comes to sounds lol. Even with ap sounds, the 150 turned out poorly
I did indeed have that back in the day Along with the excellent 321 model. Felt it was still a bit off soundwise with pulling away but i'm being fussy and it is still excellent and best implementation i have heard so far in the sim.
Is it the same though? Keep in mind that Rivet acted as the publisher for Suburban Glasgow for TS, but they did NOT develop it. It was actually a free mod that Rivet licensed/bought the rights to, polished up, and then released with DTG.
North Clyde Line Helensburgh Central to Edinburgh Waverly via Patrick. Trains are 318 334 380 & 385. All can layer to Cathcart Circle using the 2019 timetable 318 334 385 peak Trips 380 circle services alternating with 314
