Hey there, as the title suggests I have a bold suggestion that NI Railways routes and rolling stock could be added to TSW3 as anywhere on the Island of Ireland is usually forgotten about and the NI Railways routes aren't so long as others so putting the whole network in the game would be reasonable. On top of that they only have a couple of different rolling stock so there's not going to be the issue of 'narrowing it down'.

I also went ahead a little while ago and emailed Translink (Translink is the main public transport company in Northern Ireland with their subsidiaries being NI Railways and Ulsterbus & others) and I asked them whether if they were to be approached by a game developer such as Dovetail, would they be up for being in a game and they got back to me with a very positive yes!

I have attached a screenshot of the email for evidence but have omitted some personal information for obvious reasons.

Hope somebody agrees with my suggestion :)

this is brilliant news. I hope Dovetail see this post and something can be done. I suggest posting this on Rivet's forums too to reach more developers.

I'll make sure to do that, or you could on my behalf if you so desire as forums aren't exactly forte lol

It is great to know Translink are up for it though, maybe that fact alone will be enough to entice someone to put NI Railways in the game!

Ive suggested it twice already on here and once on Rivet's. It would be fantastic, as someone who wants to be a driver for NIR it would be a massive advantage.

Very nice, I've been looking into the engineering sector as I'm eager to hopefully work for them someday too haha

Lucky you lol I had applied for an engineering course at the Belfast Met, but they refused to let me do essential skills whilst i did the course (I got 4 B's & 4C's yet failed maths and english, go figure hahaha) so I'm currently looking into taking classes to get me M&E then repply in the new year, so fingers crossed!

yeah that's where I am, Millfield campus. Just keep your head down and do the best that you can. Practise your english skills particularly punctuation and grammar, as most examiners will more appreciate the structure of your work rather than the story or point of what you're writing. As for maths, try and retain as much info as possible. Use revision cards or other methods. For maths the key is to remember as much as possible. If you choose a higher class, you'll only need around 20-30% to pass grade C.

It's been 6 years since I left secondary school so my English skills are probably a grade A after these years of learning how to write in a more professional manner.

My maths on the other hand isn't great, I just struggle with multiplication and division most of the time, I got a B in Physics after all hahaha

I'll take your advice assuming I get to do essential skills lmao

the problem with extending the route to Dublin is that you'd need to model rolling stock down south as AI or else you'd cross the border and you'd be the only train there apart from one or 2 more Enterprise trains. And I just don't think that's feasable and it would have to be a seperate route. Bangor to Portadown or Newry seems much more do-able.

Without the Dart, the commuter and intercity train the Dublin connolly line is empty. Better to save it for a route from Connolly to Dundalk or Drogheda or maybe even possibly a route from Heuston

Personally I was just thinking of having the NI Railways routes, like Belfast to Bangor, Larne, Newry, Londonderry & Portrush.
