A CSAO train with a CSX SD40-2 and NS #1700 in EL paint make their way to Conrail's Brown Yard, crossing over the Raritan River Bridge towards South Amboy on a partly cloudy day in New Jersey. Route: North Jersey Coast Line Locomotives: EMD SD40-2, EMD SD45-2
Watching the waves role in at Stranraer Harbour. Loco:- Rebuilt Royal Scot Route:- Western Lines of Scotland - The Port Road.
The Kingswear to Paddington express is reflected in the beautiful still water of the River Dart. Loco:- GWR Star Class (Royal Star) with Collett Coaches Route:- Riviera Line in the 1950s
Withdrawn. Leaving it here due to fitting thematically and maybe someone enjoys it. Route: Pacific Surfliner Train: GE P42DC / Amtrak, from Miami to West Palm Beach
I suggest you start a discussion somewhere else for that guidance. This thread is for competition entries, not for discussing the artistic merits of what you might submit. Remember that we are your competitors, so it's in our interests to recommend you withdraw the one that's most likely to win!
I don't expect to win. It's more about participation when the thread is borderline stalled. My priorities differ from that of the jury. I get your point, though. "Decide yourself". So I did! (By the way I feel they were equally likely. The lake shot lacks color, the surfliner is warm and clear composed but the least watery on top of distant terrain, while the pass is a bit dark however autumnal.)
Rather than big expanses of water I thought I'd try a babbling Alpine stream. Here an Abe 8/12 RHB crosses the bleak uplands of the Bernina Pass
Route - Suburban Glasgow Northwest: Springburn - Helensburgh Train - Class 320 EMU Off to Springburn closely following the River Clyde.
A Great Northern Empire Builder in the Big Sky Blue Livery makes its way along the Puget Sound in the late 60's. Route: Stevens Pass Locomotive: EMD F7A, EMD F7B
And the winner is ?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Good to see that moving the judging of this competition to a Monday has been a resounding success.
Monday should be great because you can plan your offering throughout the week and then produce over the weekend. Judging by reactions, nobody cares. One shot appreciated, the rest wouldn't be missed. Also over in the big screenie thread, we are three people patting each other. Sure, a lot of people here don't spread the love at all, many people have 3:1 like farm ratio. At best, people enjoy playing more than picking, labeling and sharing. Easily doubles, at times triples the duration. Maybe professionals with ample touches of Photoshop win their attention over at Instagram and Facebook. Plus, many people say, go get TSW for the looks. The community now demands RW Enhancer, AP Weather and Reshade as a baseline. (Hence me suggesting earlier to bundle them on Steam.) Besides, in-game I don't get to see these screenshots but for 1-2 seconds, as the ad to buy the new route is first. I wouldn't be surprised if marketing had put Jamie in his place about the importance of the competition. I personally lost my password to these forums and I'm considering the looming reinstall a good excuse to drop out. Even though I have oiled my sharing process, not sure it's worth the effort. Was a great proxy to learn about things, no regrets. And of course it was great to view all your content, seeing many people improve, and often learning tricks from, even before them installing the mandatory add-ons mentioned.
It seems to me that if people obviously use enhancements in this competition they generally get called out; though I see post #3 is showing the AP track enhancement pack, and nobody has commented so far.
Indeed. Although I meant it a bit more general. Unofficial contest, general screenshots, feedback in those. I would argue it's DTG's best interest to show off the best that TSC can do. Newer content tends to be nicer, but older routes also have a lot of soul. Blazin shared a couple Ruhr-Sieg shots which definitely felt quite fresh. (But then it's not fair to those who don't have it. Besides, it's just 6-12-25 euros, and I'm sure only a tiny minority buys it. Incorporating it with TSC would probably help everyone. Would be nice to randomly get the news, they did work on it.)
Sorry for late winner, there has been some great shots of Water, well done everyone. This weeks winner with this awesome shot on the Riviera is cscarpenter , congratulations. Have a great week. Next Contest : https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/tsc-screenshot-contest-week-40-october-2022.60845/
