September is the release date of TSW3, and no new DLC has appeared in mid-October? What tricks are DTG playing?
I’d rather they fix more outstanding issues before releasing new DLC. Every new piece of DLC released is a further delay to fixes and the addition of even more.
The locomotive is not attractive, and I personally think that the extended route or the new route DCL is more worth buying.
They need to focus on fixing the bugs and improving the performance/stuttering. That should be priority.
Probably cuz it just got announced so it's probably in early stages. And cuz of what happened with dra. It got announced too early and content was cut and people got real mad.
They definitely need to fix the issues first Buffers Derailment Performance Lighting Stuttering Red Lights
I think they have separate teams between route building and actual bug fixing. That's what dtg have said several times I believe units I'm mistaken
I'm conflicted. I have only completed 4.31% of the routes I already own, so it's not like I don't have plenty to be getting on with... but I'm still looking forward to the next new shiny!
I'm still waiting for the new journey DLCs which I've already paid for and despite promises would be ported over to TSW3 still hasn't nearly 2 months in
I wasn't aware there was a periodic release schedule DTG was required to adhere to? Lol, this forum sometimes. "Don't release anything until it's finished and bug-free" also "Where is the new DLC, it's been too long, hurry up!"
I've only bought 4 dlc for tsw2. I bought my 3rd dlc a year after my 2nd. The way this game is going with the issues, I don't see myself buying much or any dlc. I'm certainly not in a rush to see dlc's anytime soon
Regarding the OP's question, it would be nice to hear about what they are working on. We know 2 Brit routes are in progress, but not sure why they are keeping the identities of them secret? Surely they must be at least 50% done?
I would imagine they are still deciding the scope of the dlc (how long will it be, what the trains are) but also have the confirmed stuff (part of a route that is 100%) being worked on, hence the appearance on the roadmap. We might hear from rivet soon, though.
I am pretty surprised no more DLC has been released. I do wonder how the cash flow for this game works. I am all in favour of fixes being done and continuing work on them but to have a staff that size and nothing on the menu other than some mystery routes. I would have thought a couple of items a month would be likely? I do wonder if a lot of DLC had been planned in the past and now we have ended up instead with routes such as NTP and SoS which are ghost towns compared to how they should be. Not to mention Cathcart...... I personally would prefer less routes and more trains released for those empty ones but powers that be see it the other way round...
You might not realize this put DTG has released tons of DLCs worth probably over 1000 of $ for TSC and TSW as well as the yearly or somewhat "new" release of TSC/TSW. That should explain how they are able to focus on bugs now for a few months.
Fully agree and add to that Spirit Of Steam, which despite being their flagship 2022 now languishes in a mess of broken scenarios and physics, with not even a sniff of any new content to pad it out. Edit: Oops you actually mentioned SoS but worth emphasising in particular, fell out of favour nearly as quickly as Liz Truss!!
It's a shame as with some fixes SoS with a full timetable would be a cracking route. It's almost like someone planning the routes is getting a good plan together but then its shelved.
I think it's good news that no DLC have been released since launch. First of all the game is out for only one month. I hear the term "cash grab" a lot on the forum and to me it would look like a cash grab to announce a new route so shortly on the release of 2 and half new routes. Also after buying into TSW2 last year I found it really upsetting to get a new route announced whilst I just had bought a route that was broken and not fixed before the new route arrived that was most of the time also broken.
You clearly understand by know that routes are meant when talking about DLC. Sure I could have written "new routes" so you would not feel overlooked but to make it up with you I'll edit my post so it says "new routes".
Maybe then read the entire post instead of just picking the only sentence that contains the word "DLC".
A better solution is to say what you mean and mean what you say. So is miscommunication best avoided. Cheers
You are wrong. Its good news because they hopefully work on the many bugs and performance issues of the core game.
What evidence is there of core/bug fixes? I just assume something got messed up in their dev pipeline and that's why there's so little on the horizon that they feel comfortable talking details on.
It is really only a simple matter of seeing factually incorrect statements and correcting them. I may do it in a dry fashion but the dichotomy of true/false is of a similar nature. Cheers
That and we've already seen some fixes in patch 1. Sadly many of us expect all bugs fixed within days and anything less equals "no bug fixes". I'm more confident then I've been in months that we are going to see continual improvements and fixes in the medium term, and personally I'm happy as long as 80-90% of what's been promised as being worked on results in a successful fix.
It is just only a simple matter of reading what is written and being able to understand what was written. Your logic is tainted and false It's not enough being able to read. Understanding what is written is a very important part of creating knowledge.
