Could we see a new underground line in tsw3?
The answer - not a clue!
I’m not a dev or staff member so I have no idea what’s to come in the future.

Before I start with my suggestions - I would like to make it known m that I have acknowledged that it is heavily debatable to label the Elizabeth line as a tube line - though for the purposes of convenience I am going to call it so.

My suggestion would probably be the brand new Elizabeth Line as a tribute to her majesty’s amazing service to our country. Though there are many other tube lines that could be added aswell.
Some lines that could be included are:

    (The Elizabeth Line)
with its brand new class 345’s operating between Shenfield and Reading.
    37010D59-56A7-4ABB-A832-D5D5BD21B5B9.jpeg

    The jubilee line
With its 1996 tube stock operating from Stratford to Stanmore.
    5D062BDD-048D-4027-AE30-D0749B8376CA.jpeg

    The Victoria Line
With its fairly new (in London Underground terms) 2009 tube stock operating services from Brixton to Walthamstow Central.
    D1E56B80-9F3F-4025-98DA-3952FD45FAB0.jpeg

    The metropolitan line
With its s7+s8 stock running services between
    Aldgate and Amersham and Chesham.
[Alternatively the circle or district lines as they too operate the s7 and 8 stock]
    0FFB43AA-542B-4BC4-ABDA-F31D4331A5F7.jpeg

    or:

    The central line
With its 1992 tube stock operating their timetables between White city and North Acton.
    D05F08E1-FF2B-4B09-A197-AE72AF2B0566.jpeg

I think any of these routes or trains would be great additions to the game and as I say I have no idea what’s currently in development and am in no way associated with dovetail games.
    Thank you for reading. Please
feel free to leave your ideas in the chat bellow (in no way am I trying to exploit you into boosting this post).

Sorry for being the 1st to reply to my own post but I thought I’d explain that the Piccadilly Line wasn’t included as their current trains look too similar to the 1972 stock we already have in game on the Bakerloo line.

Between these choice I would go for metropolitan line because it can host Steam and 4TC Slam Door EMU with Sarah Siddons Locomotive. Furthermore it's a TSC route that needs to be made in TSW3 by Just Trains

I’d have to agree as there are so many possibilities for the line and locomotives. I love how on the modern s7 and s8 stock you are able to walk all the way through like a mainline service train. It makes finding a seat so much easier.

Either the Met or Northern Line but set back a few years back pre S Stock era or in the case of the Northern when operated by both 1938 and 1959 stock and the narrow island platforms still existed at certain stations, for the fear factor!

My preferences would be either the Circle Line with the S7 stock (AI from GWE layering in at Royal Oak) or the Met Line with S8 stock (as part of a London to Aylesbury route along with a Class 165 in Chiltern Railways livery).

Jubilee, Central and Victoria line all utilize ATO, so at least in their current iterations, there is absolutely no point at all having them in TSW.

  8. District/circle or metropolitan line. Going by the bakerloo (which I like a lot) but the modeling of the tunnels is total crap! Any route that's mainly underground is a big no from me. Unless dtg are willing to do it properly in the future.

ATO in TSC's Glasgow Subway is enjoyable to play, and just because ATO is equipped doesn't mean it has to be used, like any other safety system.

Not using the safety systems is highly unrealistic und thus not really the point of a sim. There are Underground lines which make perfect sense in TSW, those three however don't. And no, I also see no point at all in the TSC Glasgow press to start sim.

I respect your perspective, but DTG seem to disagree with you considering all safety systems are off by default and their reasoning has been explained many times. Not saying I agree with it, but it's their decision to make, and given the lack of documentation and tutorials on the majority of these, I can certainly understand why they wouldn't want the train to come to a sudden, inexplicable stop.

WRT ATO - I appreciate it's not your cup of tea, but other people wouldn't mind it in the least.

I think the Metropolitan line would be a nice choice with the S Stock, Class 165 and potentially the A stock

I agree and for Metropolitan Line the 4TC can layer to BML Eastcoastway provided the railtour Metropolitan Line has a formation of Class 20 Underground paint 4TC to make up for the matching 4REP

Crossrail (Elizabeth line) isn't an underground service as TfL don't mark it as a Tube network same as the DLR, Overground, Cable car & Tram. But it would be fantastic to have in game.

But going for a tube network i'd like to see The Central line from Epping - Ealing Broadway with the West Ruislip branch

And i think having The Circle Line would be a fun addition as well having the full circle with the Hammersmith connection

Hammersmith/Circle would also be good. I tried the old TML World Of Subways 3 version a couple of months ago and just too buggy these days. Well it always was. So a version using C69 stock would be good though would grudgingly accept S stock if that was what allowed the game to be made.

Central Line is ATO equipped since the late 1990s-early 2000s.

I would like to see something with the S7, yes ATO is equipped but not for the entire route, and it’d be cool i think even on ato

I think one of the reasons why the Devs don't focus on underground lines is because it's very boring for scenery.

Underground lines are not all underground, and not all of us find tunnels boring (no pun intended...). To each their own.

  22. The virtual district line is one of the best routes available on tsc. It's mostly overground. Metropolitan line again mostly overground. Most London underground lines have large sections above ground.

  23. I use to love exploring London underground network in my younger days, but I must add that dtg's representation of the London underground is not done that well at all.

NYC Subway I suggest the IRT West Side Line from Atlantic Terminal to 180th St Bronx this was built from 1904-1920. Locals are run by R62A from Chambers St to 96th Street-Broadway the 1 train 2 & 3 trains run Express Atlantic Terminal to 135th st & Lennox Ave. At that location 3 train R62 branches from the 2 train R142 to serve Harlem 148th street which was built in 1968

I vaguely remember there being something about the Paris Metro being highly unlikely due to the different physics of rubber-tyred rolling stock (yes I know not all the lines use rubber tyres, but it is possibly the most iconic feature of the Metro in general so it would be a highly expected feature)

    How about no?
Tiny little fully underground loop (except the depot) with ATO. Sounds fun right...

I would really like to see something like Paris, Berlin, NYC, Washington or Chicago. Hell, any different/interesting rapid transit route would suffice. ATO is not interesting, nor is full tunnel running.

The Met is great on TSC. The only reason I don't play it more is the OOM crashes, almost always when you try and restore a save game. That and the speed control signals which continually catch me out. Despite my aversion to modern stuff the S stock isn't too bad. The other thing more than ever this is a route which needs a comprehensive all day timetable, not just a handful of scenarios at least one of which is broken at the start. Part of me hopes JT are working on this as their first TSW project.

  34. Yeah I like the met line, with vdl you can add some c stock that's similar to the a stock and layer the 1973 stock onto the jubilee line. For some old fashioned runs (without speed control).
Yeah it does require some beefy hardware to run it trouble free.
Hopefully. it will come to tsw in the near future.

I'd be open to any of the London Underground lines coming to the game in the future. What would make it interesting for me speaking as a Historian, is to set one in the past like between the 1890s and 1930s just to be different.

TTC in Toronto, line 2. Lots of underground and outdoor sections with a great under-bridge section over the Don Valley.

DTG have already ruled this out as the Transit Authority will not allow access for research or provide any technical information, due to security concerns.

I completely agree with that. I like the underground section on the Bakerloo line despite the appearance of the tunnels. It gives you things to do unlike the LNER which has no variety and limited stops.

When I hear or see the words bakerloo the three words that pop to my head are ‘dull as dishwater’ and they are very true.
ECML on the other hand I have found very interesting to drive with different service patterns, freight and emr stuff and have racked up thousands of miles on it. It is the only route I have done more than a thousand miles on!!

Even if you prefer bakerloo it undoubtedly has less variety than ECML!!

Very true, but then again not all of us gauge a route on the amount of variety it offers. Tunnels and stations are all part of the railroading experience.

not plenty for sure, some yes, but it’s a mainline operator and is not really for or expected to have high rates of variety. Miss the odd station sometimes isn’t high levels of variety.
