Hi everyone in the DTG community, I am really enjoying TSW3 and I had an idea for a new DLC for the game. I really like spirit of steam so I am hoping we can see some more steam stuff in the future. My idea would be to have the route between Doncaster and York, with a like off to Leeds and through to York, set in the 1940s or 50s. The locos I have in mind would be the A4 for express passenger services, the A3 for express passenger services as well, the V2 for express freight, the black 5 for local passenger and freight services, maybe some services for the 8f, and maybe a station pilot or something like that. I hope you guys take my idea into consideration and hope to see some more steam routes come out to the game. If there is a steam route coming out, could you guys please leave it as a response to this?
DTG said they were wanting to take a step away from steam because it's difficult to make so this is a great suggestion but unlikely to get made anytime soon. Sorry.
I'll always take more steam routes cuz they are unique and different from all the modern stuff that feel the same. No steam routes coming out any time soon
What you are suggesting is the TSC Northern segment of ECML York-Peterborough but set in the Steam era. Your route can give Steam locomotives to ECML South and other UK routes.
Anything ECML gets my thumbs up and I bloody love the V2s but I would prefer to see this route in the late 70s or early 80s with the HSTs, Deltics, 46s, 47s, 31s, 37s, 56s etc as this is how it was when I was younger. Like I say though anything ECML in any era will do the job for me.
Source (?) as I don't remember reading anything official. The fact remains though Spirit Of Steam is a mess, more so in TSW3 and they need to get the physics sorted before attempting anything else, whether DLC for Crewe to Liverpool or an all new route.
so we have been wanting a steam route for TSW since TSW first released in 2018, they give us a steam route then they say "Its to difficult, we just won't bother in the future" ffs DTG
Also that manual firing still isn't a thing. It was promised to come for sos so until that's sorted out, I doubt any steam routes will be released. Also the physics and stuff probably
