Scary stuff Train crashes. And to think the opening of the first Inter-City route had a death on it.

Happy to get out of london. The times we get 2 or even 3 new trains for a dlc are probably over. But im totally fine to get additional stock with loco dlcs.
Maybe they include some new freight wagons.

Still dont get so many people wanted to have something away from the south, now they still seem to be unhappy.., only one new train..., audio concerns etc, ...
Just wait until the route is out.

In my opinion very nice to get the 323, and a totally new ac route. Day one purchais for me.

Class 323 really looking forward to it. the sounds in real life are especially distinctive from other trains. Therefore, it would be a shame if the sounds were to go in the direction of Train Simulator classic.
Own opinion of course. in the mines it would make no difference to the class 465 without the proper sound. please not like with the, DB BR 187 reused from the BR 185.2
A correct / complete engine noise . Then i be as happy as anything, audio with quality.
Only that class would be 56 or 50 if they joined TSW.
In general I am very satisfied with the game and the attention to what it simulates. Just the engine noises of specific trains don't balance the rest of the game.

So, I'm not too familiar with the route or the loco. Apart from what it says in the DTG announcement, what are the exciting points about this route. If JD asks Matt "Why did you choose this route?", what is he likely to say? Thanks.

We got some of the WCML in SoS!

This is another commuter route by the look of it. Does the loco have something different about it compared to similar ones for other UK commuter routes?

As dosto762 said, maybe we can use the Class 66 with it.

That didnt count as in many eyes its not in the years 2000 onwards and doesnt feature Traction with one handle and had more than one type of train with it....

I would expect that he might reference how the 323's are popular with UK railfans due to the bizarre noise they make, and how this will be the first Midlands route for TSW. But DTG Matt is here so he can speak for himself ;)

Probably now put the hope on the Rivet Games one to have the new generation UK train / route, still waiting this to buy the TSW3

If they need to do it correctly it should have been something like this Class 60 lower hp than a class 66 but gains Tractive force Enough to make Lickey Incline unassisted. From Lickey Incline Video 2010-2021 the class 60 with TEA Tanker did go up Lickey Incline unassisted.

Passenger Class 323 freight class 60

Im glad to see a Midlands route, it is a nice break from London routes. Though I am curious what the DLC for this route will be, i am gonna guess either a Class 172 or 730 when they enter service

Why make it? Sounds like a good question to throw at me on a stream :)

Short answer - lots and lots of people asked for it.

Especially living on the route and being Daisy's friend for many years, it was great to see what you did on the TSC version

Lots of people asked for the ECML or WCML, a lot of people ask for a proper UK freight route, but guess those dont shout loud enough.

Hopefully, the audio team won't mess this up again and get a realistic recording sound from the train and the track joint sound. Also, the route itself has to have a good scenery view and a different feeling overall.

For all we know they could be secretly be working on these routes in the background.

These two routes in particular are a big challenge so I guess it’d take significantly longer than usual to produce them. Don’t rule anything out at this stage.

Two of the biggest routes to do. Those will take much longer than BCC.

Its been 14 months since the last actual new modern era UK route, the USA and Germany have both had massive new routes, its about time now that the UK did.

Not saying they can, but by the same token they cant use "its what people want" to justify why they are just recycling the research they did for the TSC version. It might be a requested route but so are many others, and the many others arent just an indti-kit of what we've seen in TSW before.

"lots and lots of people have asked for it" really!!
Not on these forums. I see WCML, ECML, Hope Valley (personal fav. of mine), Wales. I don't recall seeing lots and lots of requests for BCC
Sounds like another Cathcart to me. I don't recall anyone asking for that either

While people ask for ECML and WCML do they understand that there is no way the whole length routes will be released. Kings Cross to Peterborough and Euston to Rugby probably best that can be hoped for and so on in stages North. Also if the incumbent operator doesn't play ball with the license then it probably back to BR days or Nowt......

Also asking for WCML or ECML with out a specific era and section of line is a bit like asking a travel agent for a holiday in a hot country but not explaining which one you want....

I used to date a lass who worked as a travel agent and youd be surprised at how many people did just that! Usually it was I want to go the Caribbean or I want to go the States.

As much people requested those, im sure dtg is waiting until we have the proper (amount) of rolling stock for it. Now with just trains on board the chance is big we get one of the more frequent routes.

I don't doubt it. It doesn't help DTG or the other devs so they will probably replicate what's about in TSC which is a shame. Cross City already out in TSC so now on two platforms...

Whilst they wont admit Im sure its due in no small part down to costs, yes they still have to build every asset, but the research costs get spilt 2 ways.

I think it's worth considering how huge either of these would be as projects, even assuming that you're doing them in present-day format where some existing material can be carried over.

Of course my big assumption is that when folk ask for ECML/WCML they mean the busiest section into the London termini.

(For comparison the Birmingham Cross-City line is 37 miles and 24 stations.)

WCML London Euston to Birmingham New Street
113 miles and 41 stations (of which 10 are already built and functional as part of Bakerloo, plus New Street will be included in CCL so 30 new stations required)
plus another 24 miles and two more stations if you include the Northampton loop, which I think would be reasonable on this route
At a minimum you'd need two new pieces of rolling stock (Classes 350 and 390) and then follow up with a 710 for the Watford DC line

ECML London King's Cross to Peterborough
76 miles and 24 stations on the KGX - PBL direct route
plus another 24 miles and 11 stations if the Hertford Loop is included
plus another 4 miles and 5 stations if the Northern City Line is included
(for what it's worth, I think the route quality would be massively increased beyond the sum of its parts if they were included)
Again I think you'd need at a minimum another two pieces of new rolling stock (either a Class 801 or 91 / DVT plus a Class 700/717 for the TL and GN services) plus a re-liveried 387

You could do cut-back versions of either but I don't think they would be well received as too much traffic would be missing. WCML looks more manageable to me as a layman at this time.

I'd be perfectly willing to shell out £40 for either of these as described but they would certainly be massive projects taking up a substantial chunk of development time.

id suggest people do understand, there are 4 pages of people asking about kgx to pbo if you search for ECML.

it would be a huge project but I'd like to think similarly like Brighton to london , a success

In fairness L2B did launch later than expected and had (still has, really) a lot of rough edges, which maybe indicates that it's the largest TSW route (referring to project size - route mileage + no. of stations) that DTG can currently manage within the £25 standard pricing. Not to mention the memory issues that might prevent them rolling out a larger route until they're solved.

Meh the complete ECML & WCML should be included in a single DLC IMO.

I mean compared to my demand of the full Trans-Siberian including the Trans-Mongolian & Trans-Manchurian "spurs" to Beijing its small fry. And yes I realise Russia is persona non gratia (to put it mildly) currently but I still think my demands arent to high.
