The graphical vector for a period-appropriate PIS system for Liverpool-Crewe....but, sadly, not implemented. A pity, because whatever one may think of the steam-loco physics, the world of 1950s Britain is very, very nicely realized.
Definitely looks like an unfinished project. I wonder how many other things that were meant to be added to routes got to an ‘almost’ stage and had to be dropped for one reason or another.
One notable example is the Harriman Cut- off in Sherman Hill. If I remember correctly, the auto-gen machine ran out of gas! I'm also reminded of the Airport Branch in Dresden, though I'm not sure if that was part of the original route plan.
It was. When Rush Hour was announced, this was part of the DRA route. The tracks are even there on the route all the way to the airport, but the scenery gets worse the further you go, and the airport tunnel is completely missing, supposedly the most difficult part because of the dreaded light baking. Shame, a cool branch with another four stations, the last of which is underground.
