Hello - Any idea why im seeing mostly incomplete routes? For example if i select timetable London Victoria to Dover Priory it loads up Rochester to Faversham? I must be missing somthing obvious?
The route in the game doesn’t extend to all the destinations the trains go in real life. The service may go from LV to Dover but the route in game only covers part of it. The services are based on the real timetable.
You've got to draw the line somewhere (no pun intended). SEHS could be extended to: London Victoria Charing Cross Cannon Street Isle of Grain Sheerness Ramsgate via Ashford Ramsgate via Margate Dover Folkstone Eastbourne via Rye Peterborough Cambridge Paris Gare Du Nord Disneyland Paris Brussels Amsterdam Bourg St Maurice and someone would still complain because one of the depots was inaccessible...
Using this as a very blunt example Even if you extended SEHS down the CML to VIC you'd have people asking why Orpington trains are shown but not drivable or only useable to Bickley... Unless you have the entire network, you do end up with "chunks", and trains which will go outside the bounds of them
Thank you for the information end I'm wondering if the game can actually handle unloading and loading lorries. If yes then LGV Nord Paris to Ashford via Channel Tunnel can work with the feature. Which can actually open Austrian routes that have Lorries on trains. Examples are Brennerbahn & Bahnstrecke Salzburg Spittal Villach Tauernbahn Drautalbahn. The last two routes you will have to run Punktförmige Zugsbeeinflussung U mode to take account the locomotive weight and lorry.
Provided we have the southeast high speed become an international route to Paris via Channel Tunnel where the two terminals on the French and British sites of the channel tunnel actually load and unload lorries.
Yes, the RER from Paris drops you at the gate. At one point they were running Eurostars from London but I think that stopped with covid.
The ES service is running still, but it will be going in summer 2023 due to ES not having enough money to run the service anymore I believe
There is a BBC article on why it has to stop it's due to financial issues and EU Entry-Exit System the EES.
I thought it was something to do with money , it will be a big loss for holidaymakers planning to travel to Disneyland direct though, the alternatives are go on the Dover-Calais ferry and drive to Paris or go through the Channel Tunnel then drive to Paris or even take a Eurostar to Gare du Nord then change for Gare de Lyon then take the RER A line to Marne-la-Vallee-Chessy that way
That will make travel longer for a Traveller to do London to Paris Disneyland since there's no direct train. There's another way to reach Paris Disneyland from St Pancras is by changing trains at Lille Europe from TGV to Eurostar both ways as described on the Eurostar Website. On SEHS Extended if DTG has the Eurostar Licence there must be Paris Disneyland trains that stop at Ashford International on 373 & 374 with the base model being a Hollandstrecke Duisburg-Utrecht DB BR408 or merged with HRR Hollandstrecke Duisburg/Bochum-Utrecht
Can you just imagine what a pain the ass it would be for dtg to get the rights to put any kind or parts of disneyland's park (paris) in this game without coughing up a ton of euros.
Am I right in thinking that Eurostar aren't stopping at Ashford and Ebbsfleet for the foreseeable future?
Correct. It’s indefinitely suspended. The cost of a border control because of brexit looks to have killed it.
