Indeed, it's an Unreal Engine issue. And MORE pronounced on many PC versions of these games, as some developers *do* precompile the shaders for the console versions, since the hardware is known in advance

Unsure why we didn't see such a problem with TSW2 vs. TSW3 though. Too many new shiny bobbles clogging up memory? If so I'd say DTG should take the L and revert back to something that worked well.

Have you run this same scenario post recent patch? Apparently it's supposed to fix the pop in cars issue. The floating box issue... we'll leave that to the physicists to sort out :D

That was recorded four days ago, and I have not received any patch or update. I'm working on a few others with my daughter which will be posted to YouTube. It's an assortment of things I've come across.

I clearly missed it; I have a few things going on, mainly what I posted in off topic. I grabbed a screen shot(s) of the information [Update and Build Number] I have on my Xbox One X. I will re-try the scenario shown in the video again and see what happens. And hopefully my daughter's laptop will be able to handle the video capture.

Just downloaded and tested the latest TSW3 patch. Although I didn't read that it was meant to address any of the core performance issues, I gave it a try anyhow on SEHS scenario Morning Storm (I feel this one is particularly brutal on FPS / performance so I figured if they got this one right everything else would be pretty smooth as well). Although the frame rates are still pretty bad for most of the run, they're akin to what we see in TSW2 on the Harlem line in many places. Less of a stuttery background scenery and more of a fast flip book feel. I also noted less of the micro pauses between scenery block loads. Here's hoping DTG is on the right track and continued improvements will come. Anybody else notice the same as me after the recent patch?

I give up. It's a waste of time to keep posting. With exception of the save function (Which is working perfectly for me by the way). They don't fix the problems. The biggest being the performance issues. I'm done. Good luck guys. With this group of programmers, you are going to need it.

I'm nearly there with you. I did some more testing on the Kassel route and it's a horrible stuttery mess. I'm still giving DTG to the six month mark to try and turn things around, else I'm done as well. I'm not holding out much hope though seeing the recent track record of new releases. Games are meant to be fun, not a tedious waste of time waiting for them to work properly.

Agree with you. I enjoy the game, but some issues have still to be sorted and new ones arise with a new dlc, or they fix something on past dlc and actually breaks something else. Lol. Its a vicious circle

The rolling stock popping in has been fixed but at the cost of seeing less of your train when in long trains. I think they might have been trying something to allow more of the train to be seen in Cajon Pass but it obviously had the side effect of some wagons etc. not showing up at all, so they have gone back to how it was and we only get to see wagons up to a shorter maximum distance away again. I think some scenery is loading later too but that may be something that has always happened but I’m only just noticing it now.

I’m not sure all of the stutters will ever go away. I’ve got so used to them now I hardly ever notice it’s happening unless it gets really bad.

I agree that I don't hold out much hope of them ever fixing the stuttering issue. I tried to just get used to it, but then I jump back to TSW2 and it's night and day difference. Come 2 March, I have a feeling I'll be saying bye bye to TSW3 for good. Perhaps lessons will be learned and they can get things fixed for TSW4.

I think the scenery point you raise is new. I noticed it on Koln Aachen and Kassel Wursburg after the update. It just seemed a lot more noticeable that things were loading in.

I have noticed textures going on london commuter 3 days ago. I was driving a 377 and noticed cab textures going and went outside, even the same.

I've noticed problems with cab textures ever since the next gen update for tsw2. For me, it seems to only be the electrostars and the hst

I’ve noticed the Class 43 running numbers have all changed to 00000. Instead of ie. 43025

For me, it isn't so much blocky textures flickering. Here is an example (text below the buttons)

Yeah flickering textures either in cab or as part of the outside scenery has unfortunately always been a thing going way back to the first TSW. Something that's been around that long isn't likely to be fixed anytime soon or ever.

I had the same problem few years ago with Class 43. I just restarted. Never saw this bug since then and I completely forgot about it.

Same thing on the Harlem line where one of the M3s I have had 00000 on the outside instead of the correct number.

Well, I finally bought BRO yesterday and I have to say that the PS5 version is absolutely rubbish in terms of performance. Without a doubt, the worst performing route in its entire length in TSW and very poorly optimised.

HMA for example runs especially bad in the Munich area, or BML in the London Victoria area. But here the frame drops and freezes are constant throughout the entire length of the route. Every time you touch a button or controller in the cab, cross another train or move the camera the image stutters or freezes, killing the immersion and making it very difficult to enjoy the experience.

DTG needs to do something about this, we can't keep suffering TSW in the new generation like this. Rather than keep adding new features they should optimise the game because it's not far from being completely unplayable now.

I hate to say this because I love TSW, but if they don't do anything about it I'm off the train and it's going to be the last €36 I spend.

Oh no! I really wish more people visited the forums and got a better understanding on how much of a train wreck TSW3 is at the moment and would simply stop pouring hard earned money into this mess until the issues are resolved. If sales are up because of their flashy marketing, there is no incentive to prioritize fixing the core sim. Sorry to hear that you lost on this gamble.

On series S some routes are much better than others. Not sure if its just the amount of dlc I have but sehs isn't as smooth as it was, but the old routes run fairly well in my experience :) enjoying gwe at the moment although there are a few sound issues here and there.

It objectively isn't fine (even admitted by DTG themselves). You're just pretending the issues aren't present. But it's fine, you do you.

Came back to TSW3 after a month break from playing and the first scenario I do (TVL, Tank trouble) is red light bugged!

On the plus side the Loco and rolling stock pop-ups seem to be fixed which is good news

I bought TSW 2020 in august 2019. In 3 years and a half I've read million of times posts like this: "I hope DTG will fix it", "This game COULD be great IF...", "Hopefully it will be better in a few months", etc. etc. Well, this company proved it, they simply can't make good games. Plain and simple. TSW 2 ran ACCEPTABLY on new consoles (nothing really great...), but TSW 3 performances are just awful. I stopped playing this game because I'm tired of this garbage. Still reading this forum for news. No good news, it seems...

Yes indeed I will leave. However next time try to add something useful to the conversation if you have the cognitive ability to do so. Your post is about as useful as an ashtray on a motorcycle. Have a nice day.
