I literally made a prediction that Rivet's upcoming steam expansion was going to be related to this upcoming UK route, on the form of some Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway expansion, and it seems like it's going to be the case.

For the loco in question, considering that these expansions tend to just reuse stock from before, it will probably be the 8F that the railway is currently restoring right now, WD 554 'Sir William McAlpine' (or TCDD 45170, which you may recognise as one of the 8F's that was repatriated from Turkey back in 2010).

It makes sense that both are developed together.

Hopefully we get some class 43 as AI. I don’t think we. Would be getting teased by rivet and DTG unless an official announcement was imminent

Why sell a product as one DLC when you can do two?

But seriously - from what has been mentioned above, it will probably be a reskinned 8F, so basically, like the Br 155 in Bremen recently... which was a part of the DLC. But here we will pay extra for it, AND there's no guarantee steam physics will be back on track by that time... lovely.

We’re probably (hopefully) getting the full announcement today since they’re posting teasers every hour now.

Obviously they would need to have fully functioning steam physics (and visuals!) for this to be an instant purchase. Was playing spirit of steam yesterday and all the flickering during the night because of the oven illuminating the loco and all its wagons actually made me dizzy. Doubt they would be morally capable of shipping a new steam DLC with such faults.

Looks like a semaphore signal to me with telephone wires going over the top of it.

If this new Rivet route is to be Scottish, then they will have no excuses regarding the scenery content as they are based in Scotland!!! So I am expecting an excellent production this time from them.

There’s a news article explaining what’s coming in the New year. Acela and class 385 confirmed.

Yes, plenty to fix before any steam DLC becomes playable.

If it were Edinburgh to Glasgow Queen Street via Falkirk High, it would make sense to include the line via Falkirk Grahamston and Larbert station as an end point for Dunblane/Alloa services (if not better extended north to include Stirling, but that may be too far).

The Scotrail HST would be a good second loco - it should be fairly easy to modify from the HST included with Great Western Express (the real life ones are ex-GWR and have few substantial modifications; i.e. power operated doors, shorter formation and a different livery).

A freight element could be incorporated too with container and oil traffic to the port of Grangemouth (a short branch from Falkirk). Again probably with a reused loco such as the Class 66 (though hopefully in a different livery!).

That wouldn't fit the route code unfortunately. the locos that come with the route have to match the route code.

Guess what... It already got leaked. I think on Instagram you can find the unblurred images showing the stuff.

So will Rivet be doing an announcement of the actual route before 2023? They uploaded that video yesterday after all, and have alluded to news before the end of the year multiple times.

Regarding the steam teaser screenshot from below the viaduct: If this really is an expansion pack for West Cornwall Local, they’re going to obviously have to add more than just a slightly reskinned steam loco. Perhaps the Falmouth branch? The pack could obviously be for an entirely different route as well, but it will not be the new Scottish one since the emoji used by the DTG Twitter was the flag of England! Hopefully someone finds the exact location in-game soon to provide us with clarity, or we get an announcement by Rivet before Christmas.

So we will have an empty Glasgow Central, Queen Street and Edinburgh Waverley - fabulous! I guess having several Scotrail trains mean they can layer on to each other's routes, but it will only be as AI, so still pretty sparse, and that would also take some updating to the Cathcart Circle DLC so probably won't be immediate.

At least we will have Waverley and Glasgow Central which are the end points of the WCML, however, in different packs so pretty much just that the tiles exist at this point.

I was quite encouraged by Sam last night repeatedly suggesting that Birmingham wouldn't stay empty, but whether it is from other separate routes that use the same tile (like ECW and BML using Brighton), or from something more substantial like joining things up, well I wouldn't hold my breath.

Already been stated the expansion packs are gameplay related only so probably timetable related like GWB and NOT route extensions or loco packs

Adding the branch would be called a route dlc, not an enhancement pack

Waverley is also the key Scottish terminus of the ECML as well.

The Steam screenshot is the Rivet Expansion pack then for West Cornwall Local. It is the viaduct at St. Austell

I think this is an enhancement pack for the GWE Route as you can see from this picture in the real world FGW cross this viaduct bridge

And as I just posted elsewhere, if it's a layer on WCL no doubt zero fixes will have been made to the route or the godawful 150/2. A huge pass for me.

OV You think the 150 is godawful, but so is the route, especially the St. Ives branch line.

I hope Rivet don’t release anything else until all fixes in the 150 and the scenery have been sorted correctly.

I rebought WCL in the last sale, done one round trip in the 150 and yes the route still has all the outstanding issues reported on release. JD has just confirmed in another thread the steam physics will be fixed before this pack releases, but it doesn't really excuse we have had several months of basically being unable to use SoS after they borked the transfer over to TSW3.

It's probably going to be just 1. Rivet is a small team and they rarely make more than 1 new train per route.
