Looking to invest a bit of my Steam Wallet credit in TSC (nothing for TSW interests me at present), looking at maybe grabbing an Austrian route. Steam reviews are a bit mixed, with RSSLO coming in for a bit of criticism over low number of scenarios they supply with most of their routes. Semmering looks good, but a bit on the short side. Primarily interested in scenery and climbing some mountain grades, also whether any of the routes include a RailJet consist. Any advice appreciated.
OV, the Austrian route created from St. Pölten to Linz, has a total length of about 190 km. The combined LjublJane to Salzburg combining four routes into one, runs about 365km. There are plenty of combined routes over 300km available for TSC in Austria. Happy Christmas to you and everyone on the Forum and at DTG.
Last bit first AFAIK none of the routes include a RailJet To me the only RailJet worth getting is the version from RailWorks Austria sold thru Just Trains https://www.justtrains.net/product/rwa-railjet-advanced Another version is available thru SimTrain.Ch https://www.simtrain.ch/pi/Add-ons-TS2014-TS2022/Schweiz1/oebb-railjet.html Both have videos to give you an idea - none are available thru Steam The DTG version of the Semmeringbahn is 41km (25 mile) from Mürzzuschlag and Gloggnitz The RSSLO version is the Südbahn from Wiener Neustandt to Bruck an der Mur, a total length of 110 km. 17,49 € in the RSSLO sale The DTG route has 20 Scenarios on RailSim.de compared with the 51 scenarios for the RSSLO version If you want a route to try and you are only buying thru Steam try the 3CCR https://store.steampowered.com/app/325962/Train_Simulator_Three_Country_Corner_Route_AddOn/ It runs from Lindau to St Anton am Arlberg and the line to Rorschach in Switzerland a total of 130km Ten Scenarios included for the route and 151 on RailSim.de Peter
Is there a difference between 3CCR available on JT and on Steam? The version on JT is 2.05 according to the release notes. G
In agreement with the comments about the length, it feels a bit short. One thing I'd like to add here, I find the DTG Semmeringbahn pretty, one of the very few electrified routes that I'm fond of screenshotting. It's not just about the length, but also the quality. That said, by now the DTG Semmeringbahn doesn't bring anything exclusive in terms of rolling stock. However. I just wanted to argue about its price and where it might be worth picking up... Like seriously, why not pick it up now?
