Hello all, today my suggestion is the East Coastway Upgrade. What do i mean? Basically Upgrade ECW and extend it! East Coastway: Brighton - Ore (Includes Seaford Branch and Ashford Marsh link) Also this gives an opportunity for us to drive to Hastings and Ore from brighton instead of driving to Eastbourne and ending there, maybe they could include the Keymer Branch (Lewes - Wivelsfield) and add the London Trains making ECW alot busier from Lewes to Ore. Plus the new addition of the Class 171/8 SN for the Ashford Marsh link services (either from Brighton or Eastbourne - Depending when the timetable was set). Plus if maybe if this was upgraded we could get the 2018 timetable maybe and see if dtg could have the idea of linking London Commuter to the new upgraded East Coastway... But i doubt that... This was my suggestion for today. Enjoy!
Absolutely agree with your suggestion. But, if there was just one reason why ECW should be extended to Ore, then it's because of the beautiful scenery along the coast - imagine how great it would look with updated TSW 3 lighting! Here are my pictures of the real-life ECW from last summer; this is between Bexhill and St Leonards:
I think dtg have better priorities than to extend another uk route in the south. Maybe we will see this in years to come
DTG need to start doing more northern routes than the south and we need a little break from Electrostars
Yes, I find it rather barmy that the Eastern Region of BR has seen absolutely no routes and it has the ECML and GEML running through it along with many other interesting routes. There is a lot more of the country to see before returning back down south and even then I think we need some backdated Southern Region routes rather than any more modern southern routes with Electrostars swarming everywhere.
I think we should get as an update: replace the ECW 377 with the LBN version merge ECW and LBN+Lewes-Wivelsfield and then maybe an expansion pack to go to ore and Ashford with the addition of the 171 but this isn't really a high priority for anyone right now as we have no modern routes in the north (Scotland not included as we have one and are getting another)
