For me personally this would turn an instant buy into a no buy. I'm all for class 91s etc but any older on this route and I wouldn't touch it with simrails proverbial barge pole. I recognise though that we all want a line In the era we experienced it or know of it
Uhhhhhhhh.... ECML has a lot of different operators: We'd get if its south for example 700's, 717's, 180's, hsts and hopefully hiatchis - The wcml has basically 390's and 350's.
And LO up to Watford Junction, class 221 super voyagers (Avanti) along the whole route, Class 377s to Milton Keynes (Southern), loads of freight, Cross Country (220s and HSTs) north of Birmingham, Northern etc etc
no it doesn't dude hsts don't even do ecml runs anymore wcml has 390s,319,350s, 90s (freight),92s,221s,220s in fact the wcml has more trains than the ecml
I mean - that is true but arguable they could just - add the hst and give it an alternative timetable? Not that hard really? TSC ecml south is a golden route. Plus dont forget the 387 would run on ECML as well. Looking at the ecml these trains would run (counting the entire route, Not counting freight) 91's would likely be dlc, 180's. 397's, 717's, 700's, 170's (If we are counting the fen line as ECML which it both is and isn't at the same time.) 387's, 800, 803 and cross country services in the north. Excluding the 170 because that's in the middle ECML has 7 (not counting freight) you counted 7 including freight. Now counting freight ECML obviously has more. Basic math.
397s don't run on the ecml and if you include xc then clearly wcml has more trains, secondly class 707s do not run on the wcml and even still i only said a handful of trains. The wcml has the 397,390,350,170s,43s,LU 387s and the new aventras, 323s, i could keep going
I meant 717 - that was a typo the 707 thing. And some 397's run between Newcastle n Liverpool/Manchester
Ive changed it though so no bigge - don't need to start a fight over hunks of metal that we are obsessed with.
I think the "sweet spot" here would be get the IET in game, get a couple of commuter boxes from the 90s and now in game and then you can work up the line with multiple timetables similar to "diesel legends" (but better) using the IET, HST, Class 91, etc as they introduce DLC for it
They could set it in 2010 and then make new timetables as new assets come on board, but I would prefer if they did a "now" route (so all the stations, signals and layouts are as they are now) but then be able to use a timetable from back then using HSTs and whatever commuter boxes there were
Just in case anyone from DTG see this and it's in development, the platforms at Peterborough are all being redone
It wouldn’t shock me. Of course I expect it would be set in the modern era as I don’t think it’d make sense for a route of that magnitude to be anywhere else.
If it was down to me i’d take the transition period, when the ecml was at its most diverse which was pre covid, with the azumas, 365s,717,700,43,91s and 802/800/801
Last few pics I've posted all within 10 mins. T his station is busy. Incidentally as this 67 pulled away the freight cars are nigh on silent. Bizarre
I think a lot of people would. It's a very vibrant and busy station now these days. DTG Matt it's a good one to pass through if you haven't for a while
ga wouldn’t happen as that would require building a whole new train as AI for just one station, but all the others could work, 387/2 just needs an interior rework and a new livery for it to be a /1
ECML will probably come but I suspect WCML will come first we have had the west midlands license for a while now and the Avanti West coast the 2 main operators enroute
