Im suggesting the route between Cardiff Central and Bristol temple meads it could come with the gwr class 800 and 158 it is 42.5miles and would feature the 4.5 mile long seven tunnel which connect wales to England pictures below show lner and tfw liveries
Yes i know as i live near the lner network it is just a picture of the 800 for reference as it is one of the best pictures of the 800 i could find
If i were to do this, i would personally extend to Swansea, as Bristol - Cardiff only gives about 9 stations, whereas extending to swansea gives an additional 14 (15 if caldicot is added in) stations and more freight and intercity runs (for the IET). Plus you could also add the Class 175 (and even 170 for Maesteg - Cheltenham runs as far as Severn Tunnel Junction or Caldicot (if they added it in too)) in too if the route extended to swansea
Ok thanks for the information i live in the east of England so i do not have a good understanding of trains operated in other regions unless they are in tsw i didnt even think of swansea but it would be good as tsw can have longer routes then ts classic
Good suggestion! I am an eastern lad as well but would happily give this route a go. Both the 800 and 158 can be used later on for other routes as they are staples of the modern BR network.
Don't listen to Lucas, I've seen him make an 800 series mistake before, plus he had the same boorish attitude then too. GWR run London Paddington - Cardiff services via Bristol services using the Class 800 because that line is fully electrified. They use 802s for lines that aren't fully covered yet, like Paddington to Plymouth & Penzance, since they are bi-mode power .
