Just want to ask, how in depth is the Birmingham Cross City Guard thing? I've seen the videos of the 315 and 484 and that is ok but what about Birmingham? I've seen it exists but it's only in one or two videos so not very in depth. From the videos that I saw, the person didn't remove the good key from the cab so the driver still did the doors. Does the guard mode on birmingham cross city 323s work the same as the 315 and 484 whereby if you remove the AI driver door key, doors do not control the doors, it is then solely down to you as a guard, to open and close them on a guards panel? Just want to check as I am not buying it unless it's like the 315 and 484s, complete, full, guard mode. Thanks in advance.
Not strictly a guard mode but it is possible to do it with the way guard panels are now set up as per the 315 and 484.
You can act as a guard. Put the key in and open and close doors that way. Don't know how in depth it is but you can do it if you want
I don't want to buy the game though to test if it works. I'd rather people who have tried it, be able to inform me if it works or not. Save the faff of buying the game and refunding it.
On the IOW v2 route you can sort of do it unofficially, when put the key into the guards panel of an AI's train it allows you to take full control of the doors most of the time.
I mean, you can hop on the train and operate the doors via the guards panel in the middle coach, yes.
Does this get overridden by the driver though like with the majority of the other trains or if you remove the door key from the cab, does this then give the guard exclusive rights to the doors?
Ok, I bought it to test it. Just incase anyone else has the same questions. if you take the driver door key out, you can open the passenger doors using the in cabin panel but you can't close the doors properly, the driver will always override it either reopening the doors or closing them when they want. Plus the fact that the 'close doors' button closes all doors and doesn't leave the local door open. As for the rear cab control, give up, the driver has full control.
