LB does not apply brakes, LT does. LB releases the brakes.
Also, depending on the train, you might need to use RB, if the train has a combined power/brake.

So, RT increases power, RB decreases power. LT increases brake, and LB decreases brake.
You should at least specify what train you're driving.

Only way to slow down the train is use the item in picture....
I have recently discovered that RT to increase and RB to decrease (BRAKE) ... But this is not what the instructions say on the controller diagram?

Class 395 brakes are RB to increase and RT to decrease, try that :)

For the 465, it's the same I believe, it's because the 395 and 465 have a Combined Power and Brake Controller, meaning if you pull it towards you (RT) that's power, if you are moving it away from you (RB) that's when you are braking ;)

    I hope this helps :)

The controller diagram cannot apply to every train.
If you do the training mission for each train, you should learn how they work.

As I said before, some trains have the Combined Power/Brake control, like the EMUs you mentioned. These have a ZERO position, when neither power nor brake is applied. Going beyond that position will apply either power or brake, depending which way you go. The screen will show P1, P2, P3 for POWER positions, and B1, B2, B3 for BRAKE positions.

I have just figured out that it's RB that slows the train? However on the instruction manual in game it says something different.

RB either reduces throttle down to zero or reduces it and then after zero applies the brake depending if a given loco has a combined power/brake handle or not.
