No one except DTG is able to answer that, and they wont comment on that until they do the actual public announcement.
I donĀ“t think an announcement is too far off. Maybe around the end of October / early November. We will see.

Not at this time as the release date for the PC has not even been announced, but it would after the PC release.

Depends on the Specs of the Laptop. If its a good one, i probably would go PC as you get a better looking and smoother game.

Thinking about PC myself. Have to spend something Close to a grand to get a smooth experience? Would a laptop be good enough?

There are good gaming laptops out there with good specs. Alltough most times those Laptops are a bit more expensive than building a PC with the same specs due to the smaller form factor. Plus a PC is more easily upgradeable than a Laptop when the times comes.

If you can do without the need for portability, then a PC is usually the best choice for gaming. Provided it has a good processor - i7 recommended for TSW - and a discrete graphics card with plenty of memory and also plenty of RAM. It's easier to add HDDs or SSDs to a PC, and you can have 2 or 3 monitors connected to a PC with a decent graphics card. This allows you to run the train sim on one monitor and perhaps a live train route tracking app on another monitor. But if you must have portability, then a gaming laptop would be preferable.

Incidentally, you can use an Xbox 360 controller with a PC, in addition to the mouse and keyboard.

Its the draw distance, ability to add 3rd party mods in the future and maybe even TS2019 thats attracting me to PC right now.

Yes, there's much greater flexibility with a PC, and it's additional power and capabilities have distinct advantages. I have both TS2019 and TSW installed on my PC, and the superior graphics and resolution certainly helps with rendering, etc. (I also use a laptop, but with more limited graphics capabilities.)

Whilst i play TSW on the xbox i don't find it a particularly pleasant experience using the xbox controller... At the risk of digressing away from the original post, i far prefer a keyboard.

I dont like the fact i find it a struggle to use for example, when sounding a uk 2 tone horn, its so awkward to prototypically sound the horn. At least with a keyboard you only need to press the relevant keys...

Incidentally, does anyone know if the much mooted keyboard option will be coming to tsw xbox???

Youre right infact there isnt a two tone mapped on the controller. Only the one unless you find the actual button or lever in the cab. One of the reasons I use keyboard, along side Dualshock4

You can do that on Xbox since the Launch of TSW. Not all buttons work like on the PC Version but the most of them do. Its easier with a Keyboard to use PZB e.g. on the RSN route along other things like Horn / Camera views. Currently using Controller + USB Keyboard myself for TSW.
Still hope they add Mouse + KB Support on TSW since the feature offically rolled out on Xbox One. Would be easier to use the incab controls with a Mouse.
