I had the same thought. I actually started "upgrading" the route's files, added an image to "RouteInformation" folder, reconstructed the missing templateroute file, loaded and resaved the scenarios to make them appear properly in the filtered Drive menu, deleted .bak files and put all of the route files in a MainContent.ap to preserve them from accidental changes. Appears properly now: Next up was updating FurtherNorth from RailSimulator to TS format (completely different structure concerning RouteProperties and ScenarioProperties, as RS had all scenario props for one route in a single file) - successfully. Conversion process - manually: If you need assistance, I'd be happy to support you. Also mass exchanging assets is no problem for me, using a manual method. Restoration and Preservation is a favourite hobby of mine, doing 99% of the work using Notepad++.
Had the same promblem, you have to go to the Discord server and ask for help. At least for me I got help quite fast.
That's useful to know. First stage has been to clone the route which I had to do with TS Tools rather than in TSC as it kept falling over with OOM even in 64 bit. Not sure what happened to the original template route file...
It's not that important - if TS does not find the template file it falls back to the information given in the RouteProperties.xml. With that information I've built the template file. If the template is found, it supercedes the weather/environment/texturing information in the Route Props. I found a small cosmetic issue with the signal placement, their markers on the track are a little bit off-positioned, so AI trains are stopping beyond the signals - but this is quickly fixed. I've attached the missing template route file
Brilliant, thanks Torf as I was about to enquire how to do that. I'm hoping Steam Workshop won't throw a wobbly with that. Currently going through and replacing the stations with items from the "AP Station" pack, so Woodhead will be added to the required asset list. TS Tools should delete the Hogweed and Rosebay. I will take a look at the signalling as I work through. The big cheese is I really want to change the track (and track rule which is the "All Track" one) to something more recent as it uses the old Kuju Oxford track. That may require a bit more thought.
RSC\APStation (RailWorks AssetPack1, "UK Buildings Vol.1") is also included in the following DLC: So you could list them as optional, requiring at least one of those: Though I don't think any serious player is not owning the classic Woodhead line
Deleting Hogweed definitely a good idea. (Sorry, that’s about the level of contribution I can make, lacking the know how to advise anything else!)
I've been a member of UKTS since September of 2008, and had no idea that there was an ftp server attached to it. Nor can I find an ftp url for uktrainsim.com. Matt, would you please let us know how to access the ftp service? Dave
Well, I found the FAQ with the ftp info in it, and tried to connect to the server with a downloaded SmartFTP client. It knocked on the door, but eventually refused my entry. Something about a certificate ... Dave
No, sorry, i'm still doing nuts hours at work so no personal life to speak of. I am, once again, hoping to look over this coming weekend and can only resend my apologies!
Yep, I get the same message. Hopefully it's Matt fiddling with the ftp connection. Or maybe it has been fixed and now many users are busily downloading as much as they can.
I can login to the web site and download files. But how to connect to FTP? I have tried plain FTP with server ftp.uktrainsim.com and the user and password for the web site. Get this error message: Response: 530 Login or password incorrect! Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server
