That's it for this suggestion, I hope you enjoyed it, I would surely buy this if it came out for sure, put your thoughts below as per usual, always nice to see discussions regarding the suggestions so keep it up, anyway from me, TrainGeek08, I shall see you next time for another route suggestion, until then, goodbye
Yeah, agreed, New Street is so bare at the moment, not as per reality where it is full is trains leaving every minute
Excellent idea and remember what is the origin of this route because Matt had a quote about it on how mergers will work. Here it is If you want to merge this route with Cross City make the common origin being Birmingham New Street. Otherwise you would have the same situation in train simulator classic where Köln Koblenz Koblenz Frankfurt Kehl Straßburg Offenburg cannot merge with each other due to the different point of origin. For US routes TSC merger it's NEC 30th St to NY Penn not being able to merge with Morris and Essex lines North Jersey coastline Hudson and Northeast Corridor New York New Haven for the same issue as the German route Cologne Koblenz Frankfurt Am Main Koblenz not having common origin point.
Yep, Birmingham New Street would be the origin point for the potential merge anyway and the Chase Line and Cross City Line share the tracks between New Street and Aston so would be nice for the Chase Line to come to TSW as well
This would be a good addition to the sim. I think most, if not all Walsall services run through to Wolverhampton via Smethwick Galton Bridge so potentially that stretch of line could be included too. I have fond memories of going to Witton in the 1980's on the class 304 EMU's to watch Aston Villa.
Yep good suggestion! Lot of stock that can come with it & that can be layered on it! 323 can layer on that route and 350 can than layer on BCC to make it bussier! The route itself looks very interesting too! 350 is sort of train we do not have in TSW and would be really welcoming to see!
The image, which shows a Class 153, gave me idea of making it as an DLC to this route. (Class 153 i mean, not the image)
This was my local route in the 90s when I was a student at Perry Barr. Modern route would be great, but I'd love a 90s route with Classes 310, 304 and Civil Link liveried Class 31.
I agree because all routes are designed that way in order to get mergers happening at a future point. An example is the base game route Southeast high speed extended the origin points are London Victoria Brighton and St Pancras station that way it can merge with Brighton Main Line East Coast way and Midland main line when needed. Kassel Würzburg Schnellfahrstrecke Hannover Würzburg Main Spessart Bahn both use Würzburg Hbf as origin point. To make the route even busy with electric Freight locomotives your route needs to be sharing the same common origin as the requested West Coast Mainline South. TSC has BCC WCML South merged in a workshop route and basically a network out of Birmingham can be formed from merging Chase Line Birmingham Cross City and WCML South
The Chase line is quite similar to the northern portion of the Cross City line, it wouldn't feel different enough IMO. Much rather we had Stafford to Rugby via Nuneaton or New Street, more going on including express services with the Class 390.
Good idea and for that to work Common Origin Point needs to be Birmingham New Street otherwise a TSC NEC Philly NY Penn NJCL US and German Frankfurt Am Main Koblenz and Cologne Koblenz merge Situation happens that these routes cannot be merged with each other due to different origin points.
The whole point of this DLC would be to supplement BCC in the modern day and to maybe merge with it in the future Maybe an Electric Legends of Birmingham DLC for either Birmingham route for your 304s, 308s etc.
Would the line via Soho also be included as that's where the Birmingham International - Rugeley services head via, rather than Aston, plus it would also make Soho Depot available for the Class 323's use
Good question, yes the Soho Lines would be included as they branch off by Perry Barr and run through Soho to get to New Street the other way
that would be great as i feel like having a depot for cross city would make it just that bit more interesting and fun
Now with the Class 390 and Class 350 coming in Place the Chase Line will be amazing! Would offer 390 Runs from Oxley Car depot and 350 runs from the sidings. 323 Depot runs at Soho! Be Incredible.
Yep, that would be great with the additional stock from WCML South coming into play on this route along with the 323 from BCC .
