Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are all currently borked. According to some sources hackers have accessed over 1.5m users data and are selling it on dodgy sites.
I watched it on your stream... looks good. The game has needed (a proper) one for a long time. Now crack on with a 331/195 and finally the North will be up to date.
Sadly, it is out of my budget ATM. But I also have no rush to get it. I have a lot to drive as it is ATM (over 300 DLC and AP stuff, plus JT models). I would have to schedule the 185 in there somewhere. So it will wait for a sale price. I do hear it is good, though. Would be nice to expand to Steam perhaps if DTG can satisfy the license.
I have to say I'm really enjoying the class 185. I do have one query though and that is: Is there no door animation for this train? I've driven several scenarios which use it and the doors don't seem to open when released.
I just realised that it's so old.. looks like inversnecky was the one who resurrected it, so maybe he can tell you. In fact, it's not the only thread he's resurrected from years ago when I just checked. At least 4 very old threads were replied to by him on the same day. Weird.
It's a beaut and unless you want to run announcements it's a quick one to get used to. Worth a reminder that they're working on a full Trains Pennine link-up with Chat Moss/Harrogate Loop/Huddersfield Line, so you'll be able to go from Nottingham to Liverpool or York to Manchester Airport. They're also releasing a Stadler Flirt (Class 745/755) pack for Wherry Lines and GEML.
They are linking it to Harrogate? Even so, I didn’t think it went to Nottingham (on the MML), only to York.
It’s not linking up to the mml NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT Copy and pasted below from Alan himself ATS TransPennine Network This will be a multiphase development with both payware and subware sections covering the core TPE operations, making great use of the Class 185 and other stock famous for traversing the Pennines. Requirements: DTG Liverpool Manchester via Warrington DTG Manchester Leeds via Huddersfield ATS Liverpool Manchester via Chat Moss (Future) ATS Manchester Piccadilly to Manchester Airport* *Not needed initially ATS OHLE Pack This map shows Phase 1 - for most of which construction is well underway.
ALL ats update and information on updates get posted into the ATS group on Facebook. Unless your a member of said group you wouldn’t be aware as the group is set to private group. Alan made the post a few months ago when he made the announcement
I bought this the other day and trying to drive it now, without success. I have read the manual and don’t think I’ve missed anything. I’ve run the plug-in (though think this is mainly for the announcements?), Shift W, Forward set, DRA off, cancelled DSD, but when I start notching up out of braking, nothing, refuses to move. I thought maybe the engine is off, and started it, but no joy. The HUD says 824 RPM, so must be on. Any help most gratefully received!
Have you acknowledged the train config? It’s the big black panel to your right as you look in the cab. Press the right arrow and then the bottom left button which reads “acknowledge config” I think.
Yes that was the only thing I could not get to work. Trying pressing the right arrow key and the acknowledge config button and no response. Thought maybe it would drive without. Will try again, thanks.
Solved! I watched Alan’s 185 video: to see exactly what he did, and he does the configuration accept first, then the Axion and finally the GSMR (I’d done it the other way round, based on the order from the right arrow key to move around cab views). Doing it the other way round, the config responds, and I have lift off! Thanks for pointing it out.
Don't worry about it Inversnecky, I've forgotten the accept configuration part of the set up many times. It's easy to do. I think I also forget to do it on another one that has a similar system (I think it's the class 350).
I’ve been battling with the second 185 scenario on ATS Chat Moss. Keep getting an X at the first station, but no idea why, the red signal stops you arriving at the scheduled time. Anyway, whenever I F2 and save progress then resume, I always get an emergency brake application, no matter where the 185 is. Does anyone know why?
Sounds like the train tries to load into a setup state in some way. I forget which train, but I've had another train do that to me before. Meanwhile, the standalone DTG 142 loads without the brake applied IIRC.
to get back on topic about the 185 and not a 142 for some bizarre reason I have had this issue on a few other trains as well after saving. I put it down to the advance scripting in that the train is highly advanced in the sim system wise which requires a process to be followed for it to move. Perfect example being you have to use the computer screen in the 185 and accept the train before it will even move forward. I am guessing it is because of these advanced features it is to advanced for the core sim itself to save these features so when you return from a F2 save the sim is unable to read the system setup so the train resorts to “default” stage and requires you to restart the start up procedure. the scenario issue I can run a check in my end what is the scenario name will give it a run my end and report back on that.
Thank you, it’s [ATS] 1P17: 07:54 Liverpool Line Street - Newcastle. (The second of the two scenarios that come with Chat Moss.) When resuming, I’ve checked for an obvious cause, but the config is accepted still, and I’m always in between signals, nowhere near any ramps. So, could well be a scripting issue as you suggest, where it expects a start up sequence.
Hi Inversnecky, Ran the scenario myself and same as you got X at the stations as well. It seems to penalize you for arriving late because you are stopped at the signal and talking to the signaller meaning you arrive late. Only way to get the tick would be to go into the editor and remove the timetable tick on the player train for those stations so it does not require you to arrive at a set time.
Thanks for the reply. Might have a try at that change: my first time adjusting a scenario like that, but seems straightforward enough that I can manage!
I agree a ‘scenario played’ marker would be hugely handy. Not ‘completing’ a 2hr scenario because you may have missed an arbitrary time target by seconds is a bit daft.
Especially seeming's there is a script hook to complete a scenario with a tick regardless of missing timetabled stops!
You have. You know you have, it’s just that the game just doesn’t tell you you have. So that’s my point, does it really matter that you don’t have a tick? You’ve still driven the scenario to its conclusion.
If the scenario does not work because not enough time is allowed then I change the scenario Kobayashi Maru
If I finish them without throwing my toys out of the pram, yes - Have a few both fictional (although nearly all AI adhere to wtt!) and real time table over on ATS with more on the way - Might need to sell a kidney to afford some of the things required to play them outside of sales though!
Speaking of the 185, has anyone else noticed that since obtaining Weather v2 the glass in the cab seems tinted, so the view looking inside to out is darker than the external view? It might always have been like that, or I might need to reinstall it or something else might be happening. It’s very moody and I kinda like it, but I’m not sure it’s intentional!
