Introduction Hi, welcome back to my series "Improving Lineside Industry". I'm going to be looking at various routes in Train Sim World and highlighting what we have, and what we could have, in regard to railways that serve the various industries along them. I find these to be very interesting, and I think maximizing opportunities for players to use them in TSW would greatly enhance our game. I've tried to limit any suggestions to what is just about already within the scope of the route, and might just need some extra modelling of scenery, and perhaps a few new wagons. It must be said that I haven't been a railway fan for very long, and I'm from Australia, so I'd love for you to add your knowledge about these far-flung routes and correct anything I get wrong. I have speculated at times, as information can be hard to come by. (Some of the screenshots here of the in-game map are rather poor-looking as I couldn't do any better with their resolution when zoomed out. Some areas do not have 3D buildings on Google Maps so only some locations will have those images included.) Route In this post, I'll be looking at Tharandter Rampe: Dresden - Chemnitz. I believe the route is set in 2012, so there are unfortunately some differences between what I am looking at and what is realistic for that time period. Here is a map of the route as represented in game, numbered with each location that I will be highlighting. Industries Location 1 There is an electricity substation west of Hilbersdorf that is served by a few tracks. Players could deliver technical components on R wagons. Location 2 There is another electricity substation with a spur of track through the middle in Niederweisa. It also appears to serve as storage for the Sächsisches Eisenbahnmuseum nearby. Players could deliver technical components on R wagons. Location 3 Heizkraftwerk Freiberg is a combined heating and power plant with a rail link. It may have received materials via train but details are hard to obtain. Location 4 There are several sidings in Freiberg for the loading of lumber. Players could shunt Roos-t wagons and take away logs. Location 5 Befesa is a company in the business of steel dust recycling. Players can currently move Habbiins to exchange sidings east of Freiberg (Sachs) and assemble consists, but it would be an improvement if they could shunt Tamns wagons in and out of the factory building. Location 6 The narrow-gauge tourist steam railway Fichtelbergbahn (operated by SDG Weißeritztalbahn) requires coal, and this is delivered by standard-gauge train to Freital. It is unloaded with an excavator. Players could shunt Eas wagons into the siding. Location 7 gth-beton in Freital is a concrete supplier that receives aggregates and cement by train and uses a pit conveyor system for unloading. Players could unload Uacns and Falns wagons here.
Location 8 BGH Edelstahl Freital is a very large steel manufacturing facility. The track layout has changed a bit since when the route is set. Players could shunt Shimms, Kijls and Eas wagons into the factory complex and form and pull apart consists in the exchange sidings. Location 9 Transportbeton Ottendorf-Okrilla is a concrete company near Freital-Potschappel. It accepted aggregates and cement by train and used a pit conveyor system for unloading. Players could unload Uacns and Falns wagons here. Locations 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19 Around Dresden, there are further ten locations of interest which I have covered in Improving Lineside Industry: Nahverkehr Dresden. Please have a look at Locations 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26 and 27 there for more information. Conclusion There is a complicated series of tracks between Chemnitz and Hilbersdorf which I haven't touched on. I believe it's something like a research centre but it is hard to tell its status in 2012 (or whether it really relates to this theme). I hope this was interesting. Excellent idea and for the Steel Mills seen here they need a Dedicated Iron Ore Freight Wagons the Faals 150 us 996 coupler wagon one side has buffers and chain which were made for TSC now TSW3

Absolutely correct and it's also affects the other route you made Ruhr Sieg Nord since it also has steel mill in operation. I did suggest Duisburg Hbf Oberhausen Arnhem for the correct Iron Ore locomotive DB Baureihe 189 that can layer to Ruhr Sieg Nord & Tharandter Rampe steel Mill services.
