The West Anglia Main Line is one of the two main lines that operate out of Liverpool street and King’s cross/St Pancras International (one of the 3) (the other(s) being the Great Eastern to Ipswich and Norwich and the East Coast to Yorkshire and Scotland, HS1 to the south east and continental Europe and the Midland Mainline to Manchester, Liverpool and South Yorkshire). It runs generally north through Stevenage, Welwyn, Letchworth, Royston, Cheshunt, Broxbourne ,Harlow, Bishops Stortford and Audley End (near Saffron Walden) to Cambridge, with branches between serving Stratford, Hertford and Stanstead Airport and on from beyond Cambridge to Kings Lynn . The line from Liverpool Street runs along the boundary between Hertfordshire and Essex for much of its length, while the King’s cross Route runs through deep hertfordshire and joins with the mainline from Liverpool Street just before cambridge. The 4 operators on this route are Great Northern, Cross Country, Thameslink and Greater Anglia. The route length from King’s cross/St Pancras Intl. sits at about 47 miles (to Cambridge) and 62 miles (to Ely), with possible TSW extensions to Kings Lynn about 25 miles north of Ely. From Liverpool Street the route distance is about the same length as from king’s cross/St Pancras. Thameslink trains can layer onto the Brighton Mainline and SEHS ROUTE MAP (From Liverpool Street) (FROM KING’s CROSS/ST PANCRAS INTL) STATIONS: (King’s cross Branch) King’s cross/St Pancras Intl. Runtime can last from an hour to over two hours, and can be merged/ released as separate dlc’s and Stanstead express trains can work on the liverpool street stations along with layered in overground trains. We can also get slow stoppers to cambridge and fast trains to ely with a possible Kings Lynn Extension bringing overall mileage to about 82 miles making it useable in train sim world 3, because of diversity of services and a more packed timetable. The base route itself is shorter than Glasgow - Edinburgh and with the full line is shorter than southeastern high speed with the same frequency services as London Commuter making it perfect for all types of rail fans SCENARIOS Electrostar Express! Anglia Amusments: Drive a peak service from Liverpool Street to Kings Lynn.
yes, but it would be sort of a King’s cross - Stevenage thing but i agree i wouldn’t add it in unless there’s a dedicated route for it
More modern UK trains, yep i'm fully here for it!! Theres some good rolling stock that can be included which can also be used on other routes (Class 700 BML hint hint ). Also a route in a newer area (we already have Liverpool in SoS but the old one) is always fun!
Ah yes would be a great addition to it! Some ultra modern stock with some older stock for more variation is amazing!
It would either be Cambridge to London Liverpool Street or London King's Cross/St Pancras, both routes would likely take too long to build for a single add-on. Personally I would like to see King's Cross/St Pancras to Peterborough, with perhaps Liverpool Street to Cambridge following later on, with stock from the former layering onto the latter in the Cambridge area. It would be great to have some Bombardier/Alstom Aventra family EMUs in-game too, the Class 710 and Class 720 would be most appropriate for a Lea Valley Lines/West Anglia Main Line route. There's been a lot of new train types entering into service in the UK in the last few years and it would be ideal if more of these were represented.
It would be like SEHS ashford extension, you’d have two terminating points (Kings Lynn And Peterborough) on the Ecml, and the WAML from Liverpool street would be a extension with the starting point being cambridge
It would more likely work similar to East Coastway/London Commuter at Brighton, where the ECML and WAML segments share Cambridge as a common location but are separate routes. Whether they could then be merged together in the future is dependent on that becoming a thing.
yeah or something like that the ECML runs to Kings Lynn and the WAML runs to cambridge with both origin points at cambridge
realistically, only one of Cambridge to Kings Cross/Liverpool Street would be done, with included stock probably being a 745/55 and the 710
