I presume this is why you are unrealistically scooped up into the moving train that has just hit you then, as opposed to a simple message like trains kill, popping up and you ending up back at a menu. That alongside the obvious safety issues of cutting up all that wood along the tracks, which falls under your duties as a driver and encourages you to walk along a live railway, are not encouraging a lack of safety around the railway at all are they? :D:D:D But they are in game already, so must have been cleared by the whinging crew in here before obviously.

I don't know why, but those all feel different. The fact that you aren't killed, but instead glitched inside the train makes it funnier in a way. The collectibles, again, are fine because they are fun to do, and you aren't doing it in real life*. The dead bodies though, they did horrify me at first (I actually got up and out of my seat). Graveyards are fine for some reason, but not the actual sight of dead bodies. I know they aren't actually dead, and thankfully there's no blood or anything (in a way it can be quite funny that they're all talking on the phone), but... it still looks... terrifying.

At least it's out of the way (I hope), so you should be able to drive right past without noticing it.

*You aren't doing that in real life right...? No? Good.*

Seriously guys if this offends you then please just goto bed, shut the curtains and close your eyes and pull the cotton wool duvet over you.

I didnt shout at the person jumping in front of the train at Winchester, I didn't moan at my next door neighbor for being offensive who died and I saw carted off to the morgue in a private ambulance, I certainly didnt moan at the guy who decapitated himself as the Paddington - Plymouth 125 service rolled over his neck. Neither was I offended. They were all experiences that I had to deal with. Death it happens to us all, you're all no different.
How many of you would have seen or known about the"easter egg" if it wasn't pointed out?
How many of you who find it offensive actually have the route?
Just move on and get on with your life simple as that.

Sorry to hear about that JetWash

Politely, they're lying down partially buried in a graveyard. They're certainly not quarrying. The fact seemingly so many people don't find this insensitive is, quite frankly, shocking. This is the sort of thing people would complain about in a Rockstar game. I like edgy jokes but how the developer(s) though it was acceptable is something scientists cannot answer.

Thanks. It really sucks but it is what it is, nothing’s going to change it sadly.

Just to be clear, I’m not offended at all. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for a Train Sim and I don’t get what the person who did it was trying to do or the mind that conceived it as a good idea.

All the things you list are the grim realities of the real world and gaming is one escape from those realities. You’d think you’d be able to get a break playing a train sim but it seems someone at Rivet has other ideas.

This sort of thing will naturally bother some people more than others. Perhaps I’m more sensitive to it at the minute, I don’t know. One thing I do know is that it took LM less than an hour to sort out the lighting at Waverley without an editor. The signals would probably have been much quicker. Those things seem to be a much higher priority to me than this nonsense.

I mean, it's a tie in to Scottish history and, actually, indirectly our mythology, which is strangely morbid. It's hardly depicting a guy getting his brains blown out, it isn't graphic, in fact, if it weren't for the stones it would look more bizarre than anything.

I'm sorry. Normally I'm quite good at keeping my opinions to myself and not inflicting them upon others, but I let my need to defend myself overwhelm me. I did what Hentis suggested and walked away for a bit, and I've come back apologising.

Oh my gosh I remember that! Loved it as a kid, even though I'm not into zombies or horror at all. I just loved having a narrative as you were driving, it really allowed for unparalleled creativity that we haven't really seen since.
They'll have plenty to find on this thread! Seriously when did people get so sensitive? The vast, VAST majority of players won't even come close to discovering this. Good to know that a lot of people on these forums really have nothing to do but moan about the most trivial things. Some things never change.

That's honestly how I saw it. He doesn't look dead at all. Just a guy chilling next to a gravestone, possibly a past friend or family member. Nothing wrong with that.

How to enable the "out of bounds remover"? Is it a plug-in that can be bought? Or it is a hack developed by third party?

So, they release a TSW3 dlc at TSW3 prices without TSW3 features, but work on crappy stuff like this.
    About as funny as toothache.
Are we witnessing the autumn of TSW's lifespan?
    Cheapens the franchise imo.

May I respectfully suggest that people keep in mind the difference between "I like this"/"I don't like this" and "people who like this have a problem"/"people who don't like this have a problem", lest the thread be sent to the grave.

I had to look this up because I thought you were joking, but it's true! Is there an interesting story behind that?

I do not find it amusing, I find it to be a good nod to the history and culture of a nation. The grave robbers indirectly inspired Jekyll and Hyde, little fun fact for you.

An the animal was (allegedly) only chosen because the unicorn was believed to be the only thing that could kill the English Lion. Although, I haven't got a clue if this is true.

Did you not read what I wrote a couple of posts back? Let me state it again…

…it took LM less than an hour to sort out the lighting at Waverley without an editor. The signals would probably have been very much quicker. Those things seem to be a much higher priority to me than this nonsense.

This, or one of the above options? I know which is more important!

I have no idea what is behind it, it's just one of those random bits of info you pick up in life. I mean they aren't alone, Wales has a Dragon. Welcome to the mental U.K. :D:D:D England has a Lion, never seen here outside of the roman amphitheatres, zoos and safari parks, Northern Ireland does have one at all. it used to have an Elk on the coat of arms, but that disappeared in the early 70's, I presume they ate it. lol

I can confirm depicted death does not always warrant age 18 ratings, more how it goes about it rather than the fact itself

Hogwarts legacy is 13+ and there is “Avarda Kedavra” which is a step higher than having a state of death depicted. The same is with Lego games, it happens in them and I’ve never heard of an 18+ Lego game

I like to tell Mrs Stujoy about things that come up on the forum. We’ve had a jolly good laugh about this thread.

We both agreed that if you don’t want to see things that might disturb your sensitive mind then don’t go beyond the boundaries. Stick to the paths and beware the moon. If you’re old enough and brave enough to break the rules, you’re definitely old and brave enough to see a very poorly executed depiction of fully clothed bodies in a ditch meant as a bit of fun and be able to cope with it.

Anyway, it’s getting close to my bedtime and I don’t want the bogeyman to get me so I’ll see if anything else on the forum requires a comment and then go and hide under the covers.

Are you being serious? How is fixing problems with the game at all relevant to a tiny little easter egg 99% of players will never even see? It's quite insulting that you think developers can't develop a game while also having a bit of harmless fun. Do you also want DTG to stop putting donkeys in their routes?

The only nonsense here is everyone acting like this is the most evil thing to ever appear in a video game. I've seen pettiness on these forums before but this is a whole other level of ridiculousness.

I think it shows a certain civic-mindedness by the antagonists involved to have thoughtfully deposited their victims at the graveyard… such a macabre scene could almost be straight out of an episode of Taggart. Makes a change from donkeys I suppose! :D

Deep-fried apostrophes are very popular with the locals I hear.

Not fixing problems, no. Releasing the route without problems in the first place? Yes.

How long might this have taken? 10 or 20 minutes? I’d guess that the signal lighting could easily have been fixed in that time. If it took LM less than an hour to fix Waverley by manually changing numbers for each and every single light in the station without the editor then it’s not beyond the realms of possibility that with the correct tools the same could have been done in that time.

Different devs do different things? Modders aren’t devs and don’t have access to proper tools yet they still manage to do it. It’s a question of priorities for me, and this rubbish should be done when, and only when, a product is pretty much perfect. If it’s not then these ‘devs’ have got better things to be doing. If the devs can’t do it because they aren't allowed then that’s a failure of management.

I believe that no one should mock other people's degree of sensitivity, which may be different depending on the personal situation. And that is what is happening in this thread. People saying that the world has become soft, when in fact they are showing that it has become selfish because of the inability to put themselves for a moment in someone else's point of view.

For example, a few days ago I saw a documentary about the holocaust where you could see mass graves where Jews were buried and the image of the op with people half-buried where you can only see different parts of the body reminded me of that for a moment.
Yes, I know that it has nothing to do with it and that the creators must have done it with the best of intentions, but as I have those recent images in my head it reminded me of them for a moment.

What need is there to include this in an innocent train game? I think it's out of place and I have my doubts that it adds anything, knowing that someone who sees it in some way may be shocked, as has been seen in this thread.

But of course, as always the brave ones on the internet will come along and mock others for their sensitivity. Tough guys who kill a lot in GTA and Call of Duty.

It's funny because many of them, if they were in the middle of a real conflict, would be the first to soil their trousers.

Maybe you're right that myself and others are being a bit too aggressive, but I still think this has been blown way out of proportion. If it offends people, then ignore it. It's not as if it's right in your face. If this was something that was lying right outside a station, then I could maybe understand the outrage. But you have to actively go looking for this. Can you even see it without going out of bounds?

And I simply refuse to listen to the argument that "oh but it takes up time that could be done doing other things". It's an insult to the developers that they can't do two things at once.

2 pages for what is clearly a glitch.

If it had been a white tent with police tape and a cop car parked up alongside I could maybe see peoples point that this shouldnt be in the game.

Perhaps you quoted the wrong person… I wasn’t saying it wasn’t or was in any way, it was a discussion on what warrants increased age ratings, if anything it suggests nothing wrong with the “Easter egg”

"In Celtic mythology the unicorn was a symbol of purity and innocence, as well as masculinity and power. Tales of dominance and chivalry associated with the unicorn may be why it was chosen as Scotland's national animal."

People have more recently tried to suggest it was a belief that the Unicorn was the only thing that could defeat the lion (England's animal) but I haven't seen anything concrete to this end. Just us Scots and our love for mythological creatures.
