Not played TSW for ages. Have I missed it? No not really tbh. Still the same old issues like the dlc manager not ready for TSW3, still bugs galore, some being in the game for ages but not fixed etc. New UK routes have indeed been released but relatively modern era ones which for me is a big yawn. I’m not totally against modern era routes but isn’t it time there were some new British Rail era routes from the 70s / 80s released for us relative old timers to enjoy? Surely you need to fix all the bugs and problems with existing content before you release overpriced and bug riddled new ones? Price of new TSW3 dlc’s on PS £30! and not many sales these days. No thanks! Just not worth it. TSW forum has been redesigned into one big console / PC forum? It doesn’t really work DTG having to trawl through a big long list of threads to find those to do with my specific console brand which is PlayStation. Forum still lags and is seriously slow to load up and post anything on both my iPhone and iPad?? Still no incentive to move from PS4 to PS5 even if I could be bothered to find one, as far as I can see PS4 is still more than adequate to play this game for what DTG are giving you quality wise etc. So all in all my sabbatical is going to continue for the foreseeable future which is pretty sad because TSW is basically how a rail sim game should be it’s just too complicated for a small company like DTG to make and to really get on top off. I’ve read a few of you are currently refusing to buy any new dlc. I don’t blame you. Not being able to install all your dlc’s and being expected to pay £30 for new ones on first release is a joke, also not getting what your promised like the full Rush Hour experience for example is down right theft imo. Get your act together DTG. Good will towards you is declining and only lasts so long. Soon everyone will start to drift away to other rail sims / things and that I’m afraid to say will be it Hope everyone is well. See you in another 6 months to see if things have seriously improved? I won’t hold my breath.
Good Evening Quite frankly the state of the game is an absolute shambles. I've become really increasingly frustrated with it. I'm sick and bloody tired of spending nearly an hour trying complete a service only to get stuck at a red light or for the game to crash on me. Alot of the empty stock moves you can't get gold on. Anyway the list goes on. Not so long ago DTG blew smoke up our bums and told us they would do better, well that was load of horse turd. This is another example of DTG talking the talk but couldn't walk the line.
I find SPAD'ing to be more frustrating than a bug. Nothing worse than getting to the end of a long scenario only to SPAD at the final light. Bugs I have no control over, SPAD is my own fault.
I play tsw less and less these days. Too many bugs, random spads and scenario faileds. I feel really sorry for new players. I won't be buying anymore routes until dtg sort this mess out. I will also strongly advise other people to not purchase tsw.
Seems their ever dwindling player base needs to pick up the added costs for the many they have alienated. Could also be the reason for pushing out a lot of quantity over quality in the last 6 months. The adjectives I hear attached to DTG in the simulator games circle are quite colourful to say the least. And here I thought EA had a bad reputation. Oh wait, now it all makes sense
Well, there is much for them to sort out, but I wouldn't say nothing has changed. After I and a few others kicked up a big enough stink, they finally gave proper attention to save game not working much of the time, and now it appears to work. Finally. So at least I can now complete runs, unlike before, when I had to save for the day, come back the next and find an impassible red light preventing completion of the scenario. I'm actually enjoying it for the first time, and not letting constant micro stutters, for example, get to me... (Although it would be nice to see the same serious dedication now given to optimisation and other bug fixes.)
Strangely I've been playing more... However just like with Gremlins, there are a few "rules" when dealing with DTG. 1. Always remember this is the company that sold us Flight Sim World on the basis it was the best successor to FSX, took our money then pulled the plug. 2. Unless it's an absolute Day 1 item, never ever purchase on Day 1. (Especially anything by Rivet). 3. Always but always wait for trustworthy and impartial reviews. 4. If you do buy, keep a close eye on your refund window. 5. Do not expect any bug or shortcoming will actually be fixed. Work within those parameters and you won't be disappointed. As I said, I've been playing more lately - there are issues and frustrations for sure but the experience can also be very enjoyable and rewarding.
In an ideal world these guidelines would be posted as a disclaimer at checkout on any digital store where DTG content is about to be purchased. Sadly, it would be difficult to argue any one of them as being untrue. I extend point 2 to any game I buy. Early day bugs get squashed by reputable developers and you can get a better experience 6 months+ down the road when a game is patched quite a bit and bonus, you can often get the games at discount pricing.
Okay what's youre hope with this threat? You have start threat number 1000 or so..... I think you can better search on the forums this is not verry usefull!
Wise words! But if everybody follows your advise #3, we´d soon run out of guinea pigs, wouldn´t we? And the .......... not guinea pigs wouldn´t get their reviews.
I agree it can be difficult as, just like movies on Amazon, you get the rose tinted fans who will not offer any criticism even when warranted or the haters who leave 1 star reviews because they didn't like the colour jiffy bag used to ship the Blu-ray. I should also add: 6. Consider waiting for a sale. At which point refer back to 1. Anyhow the game did bring a huge smile to my face this evening when the randomiser threw up a Class40 hauled run across NTP. Nowt wrong with that!
We'll need to get your list to 10 points so that we could have the 10 commandments of buyer beware when dealing with DTG
The only players that benefit from price increases are PC players. . If you don't plan to buy dlc on release you don't have to wait long until it's on offer at incredible discounts. Yet for console players you buy at full price or wait so long that it might go on offer. Or you constantly rebuy the game in bundles as that goes on offer almost constant than individual dlc.
I have yet to encounter anything of that after 200 hours on TSW3. But then again, I only play the "German stuff"
Look at the forums, I'm far from the only one. These issues were transferred over to tsw3. They were present in tsw2.
Stopped after the first sentence. If you haven't played in ages the how is your comment relevant to today? When you did play did you write down the bugs you encountered and the conditions necessary to recreate? Did you relay this info to DTG? Did you get a response? Glad you could be arsed to post this drivel. I guess you couldnt be arsed to be part of the solution. Maybe next time.
this is a very interesting interpretation of the original post. It doesn’t say either way, but I originally in chapter that he had played it recently and then found nothing changed. However, there is absolutely nothing in the text to state this so I think you are correct in your interpretation. People moan without providing assistance to DTG in order to actually help the game progress. Critical feedback is crucial. Even if not being able to supply the exact data. It is a start. What annoys me the most, is when you have gone out and spent actual money to get data recordings and speedometer readings, send it off, and then the developers do not care or do anything about the inaccuracies.
So how long have you been playing? I'm guessing not long. His post is entirely relevant, being a long term player. Your post is irelevant.
My interpretation of the OP is "I haven't played the game in a while but I will go ahead and post about a less than pleasant experience in the past. I didnt bother to try and play again." My opinion is the comment is not helpful because all of this has been said in multiple threads. There is not any new info here.
Same. I don’t know what ppl do that makes the game crash or misbehave so much. Random SPAD or Scenario Failed has only ever happened to me with TSG’s G6 shunting services on RRO. I own all the German content and it all works fine.
That's the thing. We who are having constant issues would like to know what we may be doing to cause such issues too. I removed all creator's club content and just kept a bare bones TSW3 on my series x with only one route installed at a time. That's as bare bones as I could get and still the performance remains awful. At that point I throw my hands up and walk away.
I play on PC and can't remember the last time I had a crash. Or performance issues outside what to expect from tsw. It's strange because I remember from my console days games being a much smoother experience on console than pc gaming.
yes i did. I said look in the forums. It's not rocket science. Unobtainable golds, scenarios you can't complete, red light bugs, random spads and scenarios failed. I've spent alot of money on alot of dlc. So called fixes completely screwing up other things. All this has gotten so much worse with each new tsw coming out. SOS is a great example of the many issues we face. Borked fixes, random spads. Given the amount of time the route has been out, theres only been been one patch. That patch was just some tape that barely does the job. You only play the german stuff, which severly limits what you encounter. I, and many others on here have more routes, put in more time, across more tsw versions. DTG originally said they were going to pause dlc releases and focus on fixing the game. They lied, tsw3 came out and was as buggy as ever. Does that answer your question?
No... You said "Too many bugs, random spads and scenario faileds" but failed to give a single example of that, why would I actively search for an issue in other threads that are completely irrelevant to this thread? Especially when you couldn't be arsed to even link them. I asked YOU and nobody else. I have thousands of hours on ALL TSW versions, on both PC and Xbox, so that invalid argument did not work, nor do I understand how that makes any sense.
Again, YOU stated "Too many bugs, random spads and scenario faileds.", I'm asking for a single example of this, and you failed. Again, I'm not going to search for evidence of your arguments for you, that's not how it works. The game has to be flawless if you on request can't provide a single example of said issue and instead throw insults.
I'd say just delete your previous responses to this person. They seem to be trying to goad you into such personal attacks to invite the mods upon you. Just ignore people like this. They aren't worth your time. You'll have a more fruitful conversation speaking with the wall next to you.
I think the best point of time for Train Sim World was the first year of TSW 2 (2020-2021) Now of course, this was during the "height" of the pandemic, and there were also issues such as the rollout of the preserved collection (staggered releases), but other than that, I think that time period everything was okay. Of course, TSW 2 brought the first iteration of the Roadmap, before that (in TSW 2020) everything was quite silent until a few weeks before release. But other than the transparency that the Roadmap brought with it, DTG really did improve their communication with the player base in this time period, especially with Sam being frequently on the streams. I think the point where all of this started to go downhill was at the start of Rush Hour, and TSW has slowly been going downhill since Rush Hour. Now don't get me wrong, TSW 3 has brought a lot of improvements to the game itself, but TSW 3 has also brought a lot of issues too, and the communication between DTG and the player base today is not nearly as good as it could be, and definitely nowhere near as good as it was between 2020 and 2021.
Agreed on the timeline. The roadmap isn't really an ideal roadmap if most of what it's doing is hyping up the next release. A proper roadmap should also include patch notes. Upcoming fixes, what is being worked on and in what priority. What are the dates for said upcoming patches etc. On the fixes side there's just a vague list that looks mostly the same month after month with no endpoint in sight. I mean really what's the point of even including these? Just have a massive list of "known issues" if that's the case. No point discussing it or even responding to questions from the audience if all that can be provided is "yes we know of this", "we're working on", or "we want to get this fixed but we don't know when". Maybe I'm just too spoiled with Asobo's regular update streams where yes they also hype up upcoming projects, but also give specific timelines to the next major patch and what is expected to be included. They also list major issues / improvements and their priority of working on them and even a vague estimate to completion (i.e. Q4,2023 or whatever).
The problem with DTG is they constantly release dlc with the same bugs, an never solve these bugs. It's insulting tbh. Same old promises, same state. The only reason they've sort of patched sos is because they are releasing another steam route. Its a massive slap in the face tbh
Noticed there seems to be a bit of rose tinted trolling going on recently. We are all here because one way or another we enjoy what TSW offers or at least offered and the wider train dimming hobby in general. But only a fool closes their eyes and sings la la la to genuine problems.
Guessing you don't play SoS, that's basically "The dedicated AI SPAD route", for much of its timetable
I had my first experience a couple days ago. Thankfully it was early into the timetable run so I didn't sink a lot of time, but it is certainly frustrating. Cheers
Since you only play German DLCs, try these: BR 442 Introduction (SKA) scenario cannot be completed due to objective blocked. BR 143 Introduction (DRA) scenario cannot be completed due to permanent red signal. BR 363 Trunk Service (RSN) scenario cannot be completed due to permanent red signal. DCZ: Moving Mountains achievement does not unlock after all scenarios completed. RSN: Valley Veteran achievement does not unlock after all scenarios completed. They have been raised over and over in the forums. If you want to find them, there's a search button. But my guess is that you know all these, and you've created an account just to "contribute" to this discussion.
as I've said, I'm not going to search for an issue I don't suffer from, I asked the person about their personal issue about the game, as they stated that they have issues with the game, not a hard concept to grasp. No I didn't. I don't play the tutorials but I'll try trunk service when I come home By the way, it takes 5 seconds to see when this account was created, try that instead of making foolish statements that contributes very much to this conversation (not)
why we just cant set the signals by our own to green ? so then we could finish the scenarios and the problem would be gone and DTG dont need to waste their time to update these signal problems and so DTG could focus on other prior probs. cheers
Well there's the possibility that you could route your train on to the opposite running line which may mean you'd meet another train coming toward you on the same track
Well your interpretation is wrong! Do you really have to have every single thing explained to you in order for someone to air a valid view or comment about something? Obviously I’ve recently been playing TSW again recently after a lengthy time away from it how else can say with confidence things are still the same or haven’t been fixed if I haven’t played it before making my post. After I suffered yet more red light issues on NTP and other routes, false SPADS, crashes, not being able to gain gold even though I’ve driven perfectly, etc, etc, I decided it was still a waste of time carrying on wasting my valuable time with this game / sim even though I’ve spent quite a lot of money on it. You mentioned in an earlier reply have I reported them all to DTG? No point mate they are most likely old problems been flagged up to them numerous times before. Check the relevant section of this forum to see how many problems in this game get flagged up to DTG but are still never fixed. NTP for example was released ages ago and really shouldn’t still have these types of bugs in it. There are too many instances to list them all here even if I could remember them all off the top of my head so your just going to have to take my word for it. It’s took me 30 mins just to be able to make this reply on this forum via my iPhone / iPad and no there is absolutely nothing wrong with either of my devices. I can only really use this site if I log out!?? I see your a new member so that says you haven’t been playing TSW for long. Your in no position to call my OP drivel. I’ve long time experience of all this frustration as have other long time players. When you have been around a bit more and suffered the same frustrations ( and you will! ) then you will be in a more valid position to make such a remark. As it stands my OP was and is a call for DTG to get it’s flipping act together before it’s too late. If you don’t like long term players venting their frustrations which is part of a forum like this remit, then your just going to have to suck it up pal.
